Arabco clinches Bankal-Sino Steel Trophy-2012

Riyadh, July 20: Arabco team lifted the coveted ‘Bankal-Sino Steel Trophy-2012’ after defeating the Bankal Sports Club in a sensational final match of the first ever tournament hosted by the latter here.

Despite prominent players of Team Bankal Naeem and Setter Jibin Jose gave equal response to their opponents the lack of combination was apparent within the host team.

Ziad of Arabco was awarded the best attacker of the tournament for his stylish powerful spikes. Naeem and Jibin Jose of Bankal were awarded best All-rounder as well as best setter respectively.

As many as eight teams - Mount Everest representing Nepal, Team Philippians representing Philippines, Ghazi-e-Millat representing Pakistan, KASC from Dammam, Aspco from Al-Khobar, Gulf Column from Jubail, Arabco from Riyadh and host Bankal sports club – had taken part in the tournament.

After the final match, guest of honor Zhaoran, General Manager of Sino steel and Abdul Rahman Sultan, Marketing Manager of Sino steel gave away the winners’ trophy.

Islam al-Farra of Must Bee Exhibitions and Irshad Representing Compass Ocean Logistics awarded the runners up trophy. Mohammed al-Kathiri of New Tech Adv. Co. gave away the individual trophies to the players. Syed Bawa Bajpe and Syed Sirajullah B’lore compared the programme at valedictory function.

Dubai, May 20: Dubai-based Karnataka Sports and Cultural Club’s humanitarian services in charge Naseer Karaje team have appreciated the efforts of Dakshina Kannada Deputy Commissioner, Mangaluru Airport director, NGOs of Mangaluru, and MLA for extending a royal welcome to second batch of repatriates from Dubai that landed at Mangaluru Airport on May 18.

There was so much of confusions when 1st batch of repatriation flight landed in Mangaluru airport on 12th May due to lack of proper arrangements and co ordination.

This time due to proper arrangements and special supervision by the DC everything was driven smoothly. It has given a confidence to all the Manglurean expats of Dubai in returning to their native places, the KSCC said.

Mangaluru, May 22: An elderly cardiac patient from Dakshina Kannada, who was stranded in Saudi Arabia due to covid-19 lock-down, has finally reached his homeland thanks to the timely intervention by Humanity Forum Jubail and Indian Social Forum.

The elderly man hailing from Kadaba area of Dakshina Kannada was admitted to a hospital in Madinah. However, his condition continued to worsen due to lack of proper treatment. The efforts by his family members to bring him back home had not yielded results.

Meanwhile, one of the relatives of the patient, Ansari Suratkal, who happens to be a DKSC activist, brought the issue to the notice of the Karnataka unit of the Indian Social Forum in Dammam. ISF contacted Humanity Forum president Zakariya Jokatte, who helped the patient to speak directly union minister D V Sadananda Gowda in a video conference organised by coastaldigest.com.

Humanity Forum also persuaded the Indian Embassy to allow the stranded cardiac patient to fly back to India through Dammam-Bengaluru repatriation flight on May 20. 

However, it was not easy for the patient to travel from Madinah to Dammam International Airport due to lock-down and curfew. ISF not only obtained travel permission for him but also arranged vehicle. Jeddah and Riyadh units of ISF helped in obtaining permission letter in their respective places in spite of travel ban imposed by the police. Madinah unit of ISF arranged vehicle for transportation. Zakariya Jokatte bore the air ticket and other expenses of the patient.

Kuwait City, Aug 9: Indian social forum organised Blood Donation Camp in association with central blood bank kuwait on Friday, 7th August 2020.

The forum organised camp to support the high demand of blood in the context of COVID-19.

All arrangements to maintain COVID-19 protocol were made in the camp including segregation of donors as branch wise batches along with strict safety measures of participants.

Forum also had donated blood to many patients during the lockdown period. 

Hundreds of people donated blood in the camp. The camp organised in Blood Bank, Jabriya was successfully managed by Dr. Asma Rafat and leaders of Indian social forum Vice President Aslam, Secretory Sayyid Bukhari Thangal, Moideen Koya, Khaleel, Aseem, Mohammed Sha, Shihab, Naushad,
Indian Social Forum expressed their deep appreciation and gratitude to the doctors, staff and management of blood bank, forum’s members and donors.
