Qatar, October 16: Tulu Koota Qatar, members hailing from coastal Karnataka State recently held their Annual General Body meeting and elected Seetharam Shetty as the president for the year 2012-2014.

The New Management Committee for the year 2012 - 2014 was officially announced which reads as follows:

Seetharam Shetty - President

Asmath Ali – Vice President

Sudhir Kotian – Gen. Secretary

Prakash Rao – Joint Secretary

Padmashree Shetty – Cultural Secretary

Sudhir Kumar – Sports Secretary

Vivian D’Souza – Treasurer

Yashpal Puthran – Membership Coordinator

Supriya Bhat – Ladies and Children Coordinator

The newly elected President Seetharam Shetty introduced all the newly elected committee members and appealed to all the members for their continued support and co-operation.

Former president Ravi Shetty lauded the services of the outgoing committee members and in particular thanked Ramchandra Shetty for his dedication and hard work during his tenure. He assured the members that the new team will give priority towards charity activities along with other socio-cultural activities.

The event came to an end with Mr. Seetharam Shetty, the outgoing treasurer proposing the vote of thanks. Our outgoing cultural secretary Mrs. Archana Shetty compered the entire event.

The forum also elected several sub –committees, including special needs exclusively to handle noble and charitable activities.

The special need committee co-ordinator Mr. M. Iqbal Manna meantime has appealed all the fellow members of Tulu community at Qatar to join for the annual blood donation campaign which is scheduled on 19th October 2012, Friday, at HMC from 8 a.m.

Dubai: A blood donation drive was conducted by Karnataka Sports and Cultural Club (KSCC) at in Al Wasl Club Stadium here on Friday, 26th June 2020.

The drive started around 1:00 pm and continued till 4:00 pm as per schedule provided by the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) Blood Donation Centre and 60 people donated blood to support the Blood Bank. The drive was well organised by maintaining social distance in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.

As blood cannot be produced but only can be donated, this drive will help many patients in need of blood during emergencies. Donors were also feeling proud and happy at this moment thinking of saving someone’s life.

DHA Blood Donation Centre staff carried out the screening and testing done in very well manner keeping social distancing during this pandemic. Volunteers of KSCC were also helping the staff to keep people in safe distance and to make this drive a success.

KSCC Manager Mr. Mohammad Shafi and other office bearers were present at the event venue. KSCC thanked the volunteers, Community Development of Authority (CDA), Dubai Health Authority (DHA), Blood Donation Centre, Government of Dubai and Al Wasl Club Stadium for making the event successful.
