Jeddah, December 2: “Dedicated service of India Fraternity Forum during the Hajj has been quite exemplary. It benefited the pilgrims not only from India or Asia, but also from different nations around the globe” said HE Faiz Ahmed Kidwai, consul general of India, Jeddah.

He was delivering an address on inauguration of a large get together of Hajj volunteers of organized by IFF on the premises of Indian Consulate here.

The map of Mina prepared by IFF upon the instruction of the Consul General, which has been very simple that provided correct and updated information about the pilgrim camps of all the countries in Mina. With the colour coded grid system the map was unique and many police and civil defense officers admired its simplicity in locating the destinations in Mina.

Mr Kidwai also said that this year the Indian Hajj mission was able to effectively coordinate the volunteer services of various community organisation which benefited all the pilgrims in Mina.

Helping the old and sick pilgrims to make use of the Mashaer train was a hard task and it was the sincere round the clock service of the IFF volunteers that helped the pilgrims to make it smooth and easy. IFF had deployed volunteers at all the stations and inside the train round the clock.

The dedication of IFF volunteers was invaluable as they were seen in every nook and corner in the valley of tents, Mina, said Mohammed Rahman Sheikh, the Hajj Consul said.

Since most of the Indian pilgrims were above 65 years of age and they were out of their house for the first time in their lives, the service of the IFF volunteers was much beneficial, particularly in and around Haram before Hajj and during the peak days of haj in Mina.

IFF President Ashraf Morayur presided over the function. He said that IFF added more volunteers this year, more than 1200 volunteers, in view of the requirement of volunteer at Mashaer train service. If the consulate extends more support, the area of service can be expanded benefiting more pilgrims in the coming years, he added.

Service of the IFF volunteers is model to the rest of the nations said Musthafa Khared, Supervisor, Youth Team of WAMY, adding that volunteer organisations from different countries have started after watching the service of IFF. Arab countries have already engaged their volunteers this year in Mina.
