India Forum Jubail holds blood donation camp

Jubail, December 29: India Forum Jubail (IFJ), a community service organisation based in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia conducted its first ever blood donation camp on Thursday, December 27, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Sadaf beach camp in coordination with Jubail General Hospital.

 

The programme is aimed at spreading greater awareness about the importance of blood donation as well as helping prevent blood shortage in the region.

 

IFJ was established in 2005 by a group of NRIs with the aim of building a strong and vibrant community of Indians in Saudi Arabia by promoting educational, cultural, and social and business aspirations of Indian Nationals residing in Jubail regardless of caste, colour, creed, race or religion.

 

Mangalore based Shameer Ahmed Kudroli was the chief coordinator of the event. He called the ceremony to order and welcomed the guests, hospital representatives and blood donors. This is the second time in Jubail region the blood donation drive has been conducted under the leadership of Shameer as he organised similar event earlier for Toastmasters fraternity.

 

Forum President Habib Sheikh offered the bouquet to hospital staff. IFJ executives and members were present at the ceremony.

 

Past President of Forum Anis Baksh in his addressed encouraged the Forum members to come forward to conduct similar event frequently. Pascal D’souza the assistance coordinator took care of the registration in venue.

 

An informative presentation on blood donation was also given by Dr Hamed El Torakey, the company doctor at GAS. He shared some touching examples where the blood donation had come to the rescue of needy people. He pleaded people to donate blood periodically as blood donation in fact reinvigorated people instead of weakening people as ignorantly perceived by many. He thanked Shameer and his IFJ team for organizing the event professionally.

 

More than 50 community members who willingly donated the blood and showed example to the society and more than 85 registered to donate the blood. Prior the donation BP, sugar level and other check-ups were done by the hospital staff.

 

The blood donation camp was professionally assisted by medicos of Jubail General Hospital. As a token of appreciation, certificates were issued by IFJ to these medical professional as well as donors and participants in the venue.

Markaz Al Madeena Association, Eastern province, conducted JALS-E-UCHILA get together program at Dammam, Saudi Arabia on March 5,2020 on account of celebrating 28 years of social service dedicated by the organization.

The event chairman Noushad Uchil inaugurated the function. The organization president presided the program and delivered talk about the intention of the organization. Hashim Uchil has intorduced the social and academic contribution of the organization of past 28 years. Jamal Uchil welcomed the gathering and Ismail G.I. host the program.

Games, Quiz and prize distribution to the winners and senior social workers was the special attraction of the event. The planning committee of the event includes Iqbal, Farooq, Shahul Hameed, Ramza, Nabeel, Afthar, Ashraf and Shafi.

Riyadh: Cricket Lovers are all geared up for the newly launched franchise based tournament - Kingdom Premier League (KPL) 2020 under the banner of Mangaluru Cricket Association (MCA) Riyadh.

SAQCO –SAAD AL QAHTANI CONTRACTING is the Mega Sponsor for the event and PARAMOUNT is the CO Sponsor.

The 6-team tournament is being played at MCA Grounds on Exit 18 in Riyadh beginning from 14 Feb and shall end on 20 March.

The Opening ceremony took place on AL-Mas Restaurant in Riyadh. The trophy launching as well as Jersey launching took place at the same event. Guests from various companies including SAQCO were present.

All teams will play at least one league Match against every other team. Top 4 teams in the table will qualify to play for the Qualifier 1 and Eliminator. The Winner of Qualifier 1 will be heading towards the final and the 2nd finalist will be the winner Qualifier 2 (Played between loser of Qualifier 1 and Winner of Eliminator). The Finals will be played on 20th March.

Manama: Kannada Sangha Bahrain President Mr. Pradeep Shetty and Vice President of Bahrain's prestigious KHK HEROES Foundation Mohammed Mansoor on Monday, May 11, met The Second Secretary (Consular & CW) of the Embassy of India, Bahrain Mr. P. K. Chowdhury in the Indian Embassy. 

The situation, problems and relief of Indians and Kannadigas residing in Bahrain during the COVID 19 Pandemic was discussed in detail. The distribution of food (dry ration) kits, as well as those seeking repatriation, was also discussed in the meeting.

When asked about the repatriation of distressed Kannadigas, the Second Secretary said that though the number of Kannadigas who wish to return home is not much compared to the rest of the states, still Embassy is compiling all the information and will do the needful soon. 

Mr. Shetty and Mr. Mansoor told the Second Secretary that those who are in problem can contact them and they are ready to do their best.
