SAB Warriors lift ‘JF Silver Jubilee Cup 2013’

Dammam, Jan 30: Nothing succeeds like success...! This is what happened to Jam’iyyatul Falah’s spectacular finale of “JF Silver Jubilee Cup 2013” extravaganza. The fabulous closing ceremony of “JF Silver Jubilee Cup 2013” had transformed stunningly a festival of sports creating an electric-charged carnival atmosphere. The SABSA cricket ground witnessed an oceanic crowd, cheering the teams with applauds, creating a perfect atmosphere for a nail-biting tourney.

The celebration of Silver Jubilee year of Jam’iyyatul Falah was commemorated by its Dammam Unit by organizing the Cricket Tournament with 16 Cricket Teams in Al-Khobar on 18th and 25th January 2013. The real sportsman spirit was displayed by all the players during the tournament. All the 16 teams had played their matches ethically.

In the finals of “JF Silver Jubilee Cup 2013”, SAB Warriors won the Cup, for the 2nd consecutive year beating Khobar United in the Super over by 10 runs. The final match played between SAB Warriors v/s Khobar United was tied after both the teams scored 66 runs in their allotted 8 overs. The match referee took the decision to commence Super Over and one over was bowled for both the teams.

SAB scored 19/1 in the Super Over and defeated Khobar United by 10 runs.

Earlier in the mega finals SAB Captain won the toss, asked opponent Khobar United to bat first.

Prior to this mega final, 1st Semi Finals was played between SAB Warriors v/s Attackers. Batted first, Attackers made 44/9 and in reply SAB reaching a target of 46 in the 8th over.

2nd Semi Finals was played between CBC v/s Khobar United. Batted first, Khobar United made 65/9; in reply CBC were 59/7 in the allotted 8 over.

The cricket tournament was well executed by all the top 16 Cricket Teams from Eastern Province. Immediately after the finals, the post-match presentation and closing ceremony was hosted by Javed Sayed and supported by Mansour Ali Ahmed, President of JF Dammam Unit. The program commenced with Qirath by Mohammad Sharif Saad. President Mansour Ali Ahmed addressed the audience with his welcome speech. The Chief Guest and Main Sponsor Saadi Al-Quraishi (General Manager of IDEALINK) and the distinguished guests Salman (Managing Director of SAB) and Ismail Ebrahim (General Manager of Al-Jazeera Ambitions Factory) were invited on the dais including Mohammad Farook (President of JF Jubail Unit), Hakim Dowla (Finance Director of IISD) and Madhav Amin (Founder of MASA).

The success of “JF Silver Jubilee Cup 2013” was dedicated to its Main Sponsors “IDEALINK” and Co-Sponsors “SAB – Saleh Ayed Balharith Est”, “SMR Group Promoters & Builders” and “Al-Jazeera Ambitions Factory” and to all regular sponsors and well-wishers of Jam’iyyatul Falah, who had been a great support and foundation to a wonderful and grand Cricket Tournament. The encouragement from all the concerns had given the opportunity for JF Dammam Unit to work for the community for its betterment.

Subsequently, the prize distribution ceremony was hosted by Javed Sayed and announced the winners of 15 Man of the Match awardees for their performance in the Preliminary, Quarter Finals, Semi-Finals and Finals. Individual awards were presented to different players in various categories.

Awards

-    Man of the Tournament won by Aslam of Khobar United.

-    Best Batsman of the Tournament won by Muthalib of SAB.

-    Best Bowler of the Tournament won by Salman of SAB.

-    Best Fielder of the Tournament won by Taufeeq of Khobar United.

-    Best Wicket Keeper of the Tournament won by Khasif of Khobar United.

-    2 Semi-Final Runner-up Trophy won by “CBC” and “Attackers”.

-    Trophies were presented to Match Officials and Umpires.

Salman, the captain of SAB Warriors collected the Winner’s Trophy from Saadi Al-Quraishi (IDEALINK). The captain of Khobar United collected the runners-up Trophy from Salman (SAB) and the players were distributed with their individual trophies.

On the occasion of 71st Republic Day of India, Qatar Indian Social Forum (QISF), Karnataka State organized a blood donation camp in Doha Qatar, in association with Hamad Medical Corporation on 31st January 2020, Friday.

At first, QISF Karnataka State Vice President, Ziaul Huq welcomed the guests, dignitaries and blood donors.

The Blood Donation Camp was inaugurated by ICC President Mr. Manikantan A P who was the Chief guest. In his inaugural speech, he emphasized that, Service to humanity is service to God. By donating the blood, not only we save the lives, but we get blessings also. He also said that punctuality is the key factor in these type of events and should be incorporated by all of us.

QISF Central Committee President, Sayeed Komachi highlighted the necessity and importance of donating the blood and assured QISF a socio cultural organization will always be ready for this noble cause.

Dr. Vishwantha Kini, a well known Radiologist in HMC motivated the donors.

The camp was started at    7.00 A M and ended at 5.30 PM in which 146 people donated the blood out of 185 people registered.

SKMWA President Abdul Majeed and Dr. Haroon from Asian Medical Centre, who were also the Guests in the programme praised the initiative and efforts of QISF. 

QISF Central Committee Vice President Salam Kunnamal, General Secretary Basheer Ahmed, Northern States President Fasiuddin, QISF State and Branch Committee members Lathif Madikeri, Zakariya Pandeshwar, Saleem Bangadi, Mujeebulla Khan, Nayeem Belapu, Ibrahim UB, Toufeeq, Anwar Angargundy, Rizwan Kalladka, Asif Bannur, Imtiyaz Karnad, Jaleel Kalladka, Haneef Montepadav, Rafiq Uppinangady and other members were present during the programme.

The program was presided and concluded by QISF Karnataka State President Nazeer Pasha.

Kuwait: Eid is usually a time of family get-togethers and feasts after weeks of dawn-to-dusk fasting. But this year people celebrated at home, with virus fears dampening the holiday spirit and strict restrictions in place.

Kuwait went under full curfew before the start of Ramadan leaving people to practice fasting and Ramadan rituals at home, Even Eid al-Fitr came under full lock-down period.

As situation demanded, IMA Kuwait celebrated the Eid Get-together online via video conferencing tool, All IMA members participated joyfully in Eid Milan online gathering which was scheduled immediately after Eid prayer. Members participated and congratulated each other on the eve of Eid.

The IMA president Shamvel Parviz addressed the gathering and thanked them for joining online for this unique Eid celebration which will be remembered in history. He also advised members to be aware of conditions of neighbors, friends and family and assist them if they need help in this difficult time.

Eid al-Fitr follows weeks of fasting and marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan. Thousands of Muslims all over Kuwait followed strict guideline and performed Eid prayer at home along with their family.

As a part of social service activities IMA also distributed ration kits before start of Ramadan and during Ramadan for needy people all over Kuwait.

Dammam: President of Indian Social Forum, Eastern Province Mr.Wasim Rabbani urged immediate intervention of Indian government to help Non Residential Indians who are in trouble due to corona pandemic in Saudi Arabia.

He said in a press rease that expatriate Indians are in concern  as number of corona infected people and  deaths are increasing in danger level.

Hea said, "the Saudi health minister's statement a few days ago indicates that the situation in Saudi needs to be taken more seriously with precautionary methods. There are concerns among expatriates because the number of people infected with the coronavirus and the number of deaths reported in various provinces are increasing at an alarming rate."

"Saudi Government and Health Ministry are taking excellent precautionary measures, however, in the coming days expect to see the number of cases to increase in Saudi Arabia. The Indian government needs to take diplomatic and immediate intervention to ensure the treatment of Indian expatriates considering the number of effected people increasing", He said.

He also urged that the Embassy and the Government of India should ensure qaurantiane faculty for Indian expatriates and arrange special low cost flights to bring back expatriates who would like to return home country.

" Government of India and Indian embassy need to intervene immediately to ensure that the quarantine system is in place for Indian expatriates as the facilities in the rooms where the residents are staying together are very limited. There should also be a mechanism to organize low-cost flight services for expatriates who are ready to go home. The government system should also be able to accommodate the expatriates in special quarantine areas in hometown as soon they arrive in India", he urged.
