BDNE’s day out at Zabeel Park

Dubai, Jan 31: Billawas Dubai & Northern Emirates (BDNE) a premier association of Billawas in Dubai as a part of their ongoing activities, had arranged a picnic on 25th of January, 2013 at Zabeel Park, Dubai.  The day-long Annual Picnic 2013 event was attended by BDNE Working Committee Members with their family and relatives along with fellow Billawa Community members and their families residing in UAE.

BDNE President Shri Jithendra Suvarna with his wife Pramila Suvarna inaugurated the annual   picnic by releasing the colourful balloons in the air.

Special attraction of the day was a stall of homemade breakfast dishes like Pundi with chicken curry, Shemige with coconut milk, Gendadha Adya, Neer dosa, Masala Tea, fruits, chips and juices which were served to the crowd who enjoyed every bit of it.  This arrangement was specially done by Soumya, Satish Ullal and their team.

BDNE working committee members Ganesh Kotian, Sudhakar Poojary & Jayashree Sudhakar distributed the colourful wrist bands to the crowd and segregated them into 4 teams named as Mangalore, Mumbai, Udupi and Karkala.  Throughout the day all the games were played with team scores.  Fun games were also arranged for children and there were variety of games for couples, men, bachelors and ladies efficiently  conducted by Shodhan Prasad, Nagaraj Amin, Sathish Ullal, Vasanth Thumbe, Deepa Jagannath and team.  It was nice to see the fun games like ball in the bucket, emotions game, passing the ring, dodge ball, Housie etc. played with full of sporty spirit.

Out of the four teams played, Mangalore Team scored the maximum points in the fun games and emerged as winner of the day.

A delicious lunch with typical mangaloreans delicacies like Chicken Sukka, vegetable curry, payasa were served to the whole crowd.

Throughout the year Billawas Dubai & Northern Emirates conduct  programmes like Blood donation campaign, Education scholarship distribution for the needy students back home in India, Sri Narayana Guru Pooja, Sports Meet, Annual get-together etc.

At the end of the picnic BDNE President Jithendra Suvarna addressed the crowd and requested all the members to keep supporting the social work that the organization has been doing.

Dammam: Indian Social Forum, Dammam, Karnataka chapter distributed Food Kits for Indian expatriates labors who were in trouble due to Corona lockdown on April 6, 2020 at a labor camp here in Al Khobar.

The labors, most of them are from the staes of Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh And Uttar Pradesh, were in trouble without food.

 Recieving the information leaders of Indian Social Forum immediately visited the camp to take survey.

Indian Social Forum with the help of donors distributed food kits. Indian Social Forum, Dammam, Karnataka Chapter president Mr.Mohammed Shareef Jokatte expressed gratitude for donors for their contribution.

Kuwait: State of Karnataka is enriched with Daasa culture, which had contributed immensely to its literature, culture, art & philosophy. Daasa tradition in Karnataka was part of the Bhakti movement which flourished from around 15th century and it extended considerable spiritual influence over the masses. Kuwait Kannada Koota, a socio-cultural association for the people of Karnataka in Kuwait, organized its annual Daasotsava on 14th February 2020 in remembrance of these saints, thereby displaying the rich cultural heritage of the state. 

The program started with a warm welcome address by Mrs. Spoorthy Kamath, convener of cultural committee. Divine invocation prayer by Mrs. Vasantha Ashok and Mrs. Sandhya Arun set the trend for the event. This was followed by lighting of the traditional lamp by the 2020 executive committee, comprising of President Mr. Rajesh Vittal, Vice President Mr. Sandeep Chabba, General Secretary Mr. Praveen Kumar Shetty and Treasurer Mr. Pradeep Rao. President, while welcoming the gathering, spoke about the importance of Daasas in Kannada literature & history and briefed about the series of upcoming programs. Cultural programs started with fancy dress competition by Koota children comprising of all age group starting from infants to elder kids. This program stole the show as the efforts & time invested by children and their parents were clearly visible. 

2019 executive committee was felicitated by the current committee for wonderfully managing Koota affairs & programs. This was followed by the release of Koota magazine “Marala Mallige", comprising of informative articles, drawings, poems etc., entirely contributed by the association members. Event’s main attraction “Vrindavana Leelavarana", a colorful dance drama spectacularly portrayed by 54 Koota children, was very well appreciated & received by the attendees. Association children who successfully completed 10th and 12th were felicitated as a token of encouragement. Executive committee gave away prizes to Kids who excelled in the stage competitions held earlier. Audience was treated to a divine and melodious Bhajan program conducted astutely by the ladies & men. Koota women performed Bhajan Kolata, along with ladies bhajan, in a well-coordinated manner. Vote of thanks was proposed by the secretary of Koota, thanking those who contributed for the success of the event. Another attraction was a quiz competition “Rasa Prashne", conducted efficiently between the programs, by Mr. Mahesh Shiramgond. 

The whole event was planned and executed astutely by the cultural committee under the leadership of Convener, Mrs. Spoorthy Kamath. Public Relations Committee, led by Mrs. Suparna Dambal, welcomed the members in a vibrant & colorful way, showcasing a beautifully erected divine mantap. The event was sponsored by Unimoni, LIC HFL, VSPL, Geetherb, Kotak Life Insurance, Joy Alukkas, Lulu Hypermarket & Total Environment. The program ended with a sumptuous satvik lunch, sponsored by the senior Koota member, Mr. Ramachandran Seetharaman.

Indian Social Forum, Eastern Province Central Committee, Saudi Arabia organized Republic Day program at AlRyan Policlinic Restaurant Auditorium, Dammam on 25th January 2020.

Abdul Waris, Former Chairman of Indian International School Dammam Inaugurated the program.

Wasim Rabbani, president of Indian Social Forum, Eastern Province Central Committee Presided over the program.

Mansoor Shah KFUPM, Indian Social Forum Delhi Zone President, Dr. Fayaz Ahmed from King Fahad University Hospital, Amir Moulavi, Executive Member,  India Fraternity Forum (IFF) Dammam, Nasir Koduvalli, Indian Social Forum, Kerala State President, Dammam, Sharief, Social Forum Karnataka State President, DammamJahangir Moulavi, Tamilnadu State president delivered speech at the program. Mohammed Firoz, Indian Social Forum  President, Jubail read the preamble of constitution. 

 Nameer Kerala , Secretary, Social Forum Central Committee welcomed guests while Ashraf Karnataka, General Secretary, Central Committee delivered vote of thanks and Tahir Hyderabad, Secretary, Indian Social Forum, Central Committee coordinated the program.
