Fun filled Friday for Bunts in Qatar

Qatar, Feb 20: Bunts Qatar finally witnessed its maiden and much awaited sports and recreation day on February 15 at New Family Wakrah Beach where over 150 people came and took part in the fun filled events.

The event was started through hoisting of Bunts Qatar Flag by the President Ravi Shetty along with Vice-President Prakash Ajila ,Sports Secretary Uday Shetty,Treasurer Dhananjay Shetty,Ladies Coordinator Vijaya N Shetty ,Cultural Secretary Akshatha A Hegde, Forum’s Senior most member Jaya Shetty,Tulu Koota Qatar President Seetaram Shetty, Tulu Koota Qatar Past President Ramchandra Shetty, Visiting guest Sarvani Shetty and Karnataka Sangha General Secretary Deepak Shetty .

Members were classified into four groups of different colors with captains and vice-captains designates to each group.

Gropus were- Doha Warriors (Green-Captain :Gopinath Shetty, Vice-Captain: Shrinidhi), Measeed Magnets (Blue- Captain: Nithin Shetty, Vice-Captain: Pavana), Dukhan Devils (Red/ Captain: Prakash Shetty (QNCC), Vice-Captain: Chandrakala) and Khor Knights (Yellow- Captain; Uday Kumar, Vice-Captain: Shilpa)

As many as 18 games were conducted for all age groups such as foot cricket, football, volleyball, lagori, tug-of-war and so on. Though the games were played in a friendly and fun filled ambience, few games had a nail-biting and thrilling finishes which were well supported and cheered by their respective team members. Points were allotted to all the games. All the four teams played and competed well to come out victorious in various categories. Finally, the team that emerged victorious and lifted the winning rolling trophy was the Blue Team - Mesaaed Magnets & the Runners-up rolling trophy was lifted by Yellow Team- Khor Warriors. Bunts Qatar Treasurer Dhananjay Shetty came up with a surprise and distributed special gifts to tiny tots and children.

Concluding the event, sports secretary proposed vote of thanks and expressed his sincere gratitude to all those who contributed for the grand success of the event.

Dammam: President of Indian Social Forum, Eastern Province Mr.Wasim Rabbani urged immediate intervention of Indian government to help Non Residential Indians who are in trouble due to corona pandemic in Saudi Arabia.

He said in a press rease that expatriate Indians are in concern  as number of corona infected people and  deaths are increasing in danger level.

Hea said, "the Saudi health minister's statement a few days ago indicates that the situation in Saudi needs to be taken more seriously with precautionary methods. There are concerns among expatriates because the number of people infected with the coronavirus and the number of deaths reported in various provinces are increasing at an alarming rate."

"Saudi Government and Health Ministry are taking excellent precautionary measures, however, in the coming days expect to see the number of cases to increase in Saudi Arabia. The Indian government needs to take diplomatic and immediate intervention to ensure the treatment of Indian expatriates considering the number of effected people increasing", He said.

He also urged that the Embassy and the Government of India should ensure qaurantiane faculty for Indian expatriates and arrange special low cost flights to bring back expatriates who would like to return home country.

" Government of India and Indian embassy need to intervene immediately to ensure that the quarantine system is in place for Indian expatriates as the facilities in the rooms where the residents are staying together are very limited. There should also be a mechanism to organize low-cost flight services for expatriates who are ready to go home. The government system should also be able to accommodate the expatriates in special quarantine areas in hometown as soon they arrive in India", he urged.

Riyadh, Feb 24: Indian Islahi Center, Riyadh (IICR) kicked off the propagation campaign of "Learn the Quran" national conference, which is slated to be held on March 27, 2020 at Nofa Istiraha, Exit 18, Riyadh, Kingdom Saudi Arabia. It's IICR's 20th successful program.

Kerala Legislative Assembly's opposition leader & Congress leader, Ramesh Chennitthala inaugurated the campaign that was held at Voco Hotel in Riyadh, capital city of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Ramesh was on two days visit in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The objective of the campaign is to instil the keenness & to keep creating the continuous awareness amongst the community on Quran. It also enables to recite the Quran with Tajweed (science of reading the Quran) & correct form.

Aboobakker Edthanatukkara (President of IICR), Abdul Qayyum Bustani, Kunhi Kumbala, Abdullah Vallanchira, Adv. Abdul Jaleel, Naushad Ali Kozhikode, Mujeeb Ali Thodigappulam, Muhammad Kutty Kadannamanna, Fasal Rahman City Flower, Mujeeb Irumbuzhi, Jaleel Alappuzha, Arafat & others were present on the occasion.

Karnataka Sports and Cultural Club (KSCC) organized Blood Donation Camp at Latifa Hospital, Oud Mehta Dubai on April 23rd, 2020 in association with Dubai Health Authority (DHA) and with support from Community Development Authority (CDA) Government of Dubai.

Blood Donation Drive started in the morning at 7:30 am to 6:00 pm. Around 48 people participated in this drive and donated blood to support the Dubai Blood Bank.

A potential shortage of blood for transfusions has been occurred due to a significant reduction in voluntary blood donations during this time of the COVID-19 pandemic. The current pandemic, health services are now running with shortages of blood availability. To support the DHA Blood Bank KSCC taken initiative to ensure that blood donations continued and are safe for both the donor and the recipient.

After taking safety precaution and safe distance during the blood donation donors feeling happy and honored to participate and donate blood at this pandemic situation. Club Manager Mr. Mohammad Shafi was also present during this event.

KSCC appreciated all the blood donors and be grateful to Dubai Health Authority (DHA), Community Development Authority (CDA), and Government of Dubai for their association for this event. They also thanked the volunteers and supporters.
