Riyadh: ‘JF winter Festival 2013’ revives responsibility among expats

Riyadh Feb 24: The ‘JF winter Festival 2013’, a unique programme of Riyadh unit of Jamiyyatul Falah attracted a large number of Nonresident Indian families and individuals. The evening programme held at Al Rushd Isthara in Riyadh on Thursday, February 21, also marked the silver jubilee celebration of the award winning Mangalore based philanthropic NGO.

JF Riyadh unit president Mohammed Mubeen in his presidential remarks, said that when the organisation came into existence in 1988, they had never thought that it would reach such a height in 25 years. He recalled that the Karnataka state government itself recognised the contributions of JF and honoured it with an award.

Laying emphasis on the importance of education in Islam, he said that seeking knowledge is a must for every Muslim. “Our focus will remain mainly on education,” he said.

S M Rasheed of SMR Builders, who was chief guest on the occasion, stressing on importance of charity in a society, commended the role JF in community service. He said that JF is the first organisation in Mangalore which started distributing scholarships among the needy students.

On the same occasion, Coastaldigest.com chairman Mohammed Asif was given a warm felicitation by the JF for his role in establishing direct aviation link between Mangalore and Dammam.

On behalf of JF, its former president Parvez Ali handed over a feasibility study report on direct flight operation between Mangalore and Riyadh to Mr Asif requesting him to pressurize the authorities concerned to commence direct flight operation between these two cities.

Responding to felicitation, Mr Asif pledged that Coastaldigest.com would continue its effort towards connecting Riyadh and Jeddah, the two main cities of Saudi Arabia directly with Mangalore.

Stating that JF was the first organisation which motivated him towards social service, Mr Asif said that spending 25 years in community service itself is a great achievement.

Akhtar sheikh, the Ameer of JF Non-Resident Coordination Council, briefed about the achievements of JF with the help of power point presentation.

Awards were given to those Mangalorean students in Riyadh who had performed well in the field of sports. They are Mohammed Aves (Table Tennis), Hisham Akhtar, Mazin Abbas Mahfooz and Mohamed Nabeel Rasheed Pillar (Cricket).

Quiz completion was conducted by Mehfooz. While conducting spot games, Parvez briefed about the necessity of having ‘Adhar (UID) Card’ and also explained about the process of obtaining it.

Three expatriate workers who spent highest years (38 years) in Saudi Arabia and two Huffaz- e- Quran were also honoured on the occasion with mementos.

B S Basheer Saheb, JF Mangalore City Corporation unit president, CM kunhi of Safa Makkah Polyclinic, Roysten Prabhu President of Karavali Welfare Association, Mujeeb Khan of Sodexo, Sahul Hameed and Mahmood Saad former presidents of JF Dammam were also present as guests.

The Programme commenced in the evening with the recitation of Quranic verses from Abdul Majeed, the young Hafiz-e-Quran of Riyadh. Parvez ALI compered the programme. Ayaz Ahmed and team conducted various outdoor games as part of the event.

SMR Builders, Fedex, Sodexho-NCMS, Safa Makkah Polyclinic, A-I Plastics, Wenz Exhibition were the main sponsors of this event. Sponsorship was done under the leadership of SM Salih, Ilyas Basem and Akther sheikh.

Delicious dinner was served on the event which was sponsored by Sodexho – NCMS through its GCC Finance Director Abdul Basheer.

Riyadh: On the occasion of 71st Republic Day of India, Karavali Welfare Association Riyadh (KWAR) conducted BLOOD DONATION CAMPAIGN on the 17th Jan 2020 at KING SAUD Universities King Khalid University Hospital, Riyadh. 

This is one of KWARs Prestigious Humanitarian EVENT every year, as we are indebted to serve the society for a Great Cause.

The campaign began at 08:30 am with a theme of Republic Day Celebrations and went on till 3:30 pm. Irrespective of Friday being a weekend and holiday people came in good numbers to donate Blood. The Hospital Staff, The Doctors and the Blood Bank Technicians and others at King Khalid University Hospital were more than happy to serve all those who have participated in this campaign.

KWAR Thanks all the Hospital Staff especially Mr. Salman Baqsh for his introduction of KWAR to Blood Bank and all the arrangements for this campaign, without his support this could not been done. Dr. Zafar Mahmoud for his wonderful support during the campaign and Mr. Abdullah Al Saman for his outstanding Hospitality throughout the campaign. KWAR also thanks all the donors who came all the way voluntarily for this Great Humanitarian Cause. As a token of gesture KWAR awarded Certificate of Appreciation to all the participants.

And KWAR would like to thank specially Mr. Nasir, Representative of Blood Helpline Karnataka, who encouraged many donors and made them to actively participate and donate blood for this noble cause.

KWAR’s core activities was on display on the screen, with most of the Committee members were present at the venue to serve the donors. KWAR thanks all the members, the Executive committee and all those who took their valuable time to organize this event successfully and thank all our well-wishers who supported us for the BLOOD DONATION CAMPAIGN. We in KWAR wish every Donor and the participants a healthy life ahead, and we need everyone's active participation in all our Future events.

Dubai: In response to UAE health authorities encourage blood donation campaign Anivasai Kannadigara Okkuta - U.A.E, conducted blood donation camps on April 22 at Abu Dhabi Blood Bank Khaldiya and on 23/04/2020 at Blood Transfusion and Research Centre, Sharjah.

The Abu Dhabi camp was inaugurated by Head of Department of Abu Dhabi Blood Bank, On this occasion she gave brief inputs of the benefits and features of blood donation, urged the participants to spread greater awareness about the importance of blood donation and congratulated the AKO members for their selfless social service and wished all the best for their future endeavours.

Abdul Rasheed, President of AKO presided over the function and Anivasai Kannadigara Okkuta Vice President Mr. Mohammad Nasir appreciated the effort for organizing this camp and gathering youths to be a part of this noble cause as life is precious on this earth. "Each drop of blood counts much, so kindly take it as personal compassion to help unknown who requires blood with no relatives to help him/her.

In Abu Dhabi 41 and in Sharjah 49 donors participated in this event and donated their blood. It was nice to see cheerful smiling donors doing a great community work.
Blood bank staff and AKO Organizing team enthusiastically arranged the campaign which was witnessed by many members and leaders of various community organization of Karnataka.

Anivasai Kannadigara Okkuta President briefed the participates about the ongoing social work of AKO in this current COVID-19 pandemic grim situation AKO is working on following fields: AKO Members have stepped up to support needy community during the Covid-19 pandemic have gone out of their way to comfort those struggling to deal with the challenging situation.

While thousands of people continue to #StayHome, many are in quarantine, there are those on visit visa and stuck here, others have lost jobs or face salary cuts. AKO in coordination with UAE Embassy and other social organization have been able to ensure basic necessities are fulfilled with food provisions and medical assistance to needy.

Providing counselling to bachelors and families those are on quarantine and isolation.

The organizers thanked everybody especially, UAE Health Authority, Abu Dhabi Blood Bank Khaldiya and Blood Transfusion and Research Centre, Sharjah, Management and staff as well as donors for their time and support for the good cause.

Kuwait City, Aug 9: Indian social forum organised Blood Donation Camp in association with central blood bank kuwait on Friday, 7th August 2020.

The forum organised camp to support the high demand of blood in the context of COVID-19.

All arrangements to maintain COVID-19 protocol were made in the camp including segregation of donors as branch wise batches along with strict safety measures of participants.

Forum also had donated blood to many patients during the lockdown period. 

Hundreds of people donated blood in the camp. The camp organised in Blood Bank, Jabriya was successfully managed by Dr. Asma Rafat and leaders of Indian social forum Vice President Aslam, Secretory Sayyid Bukhari Thangal, Moideen Koya, Khaleel, Aseem, Mohammed Sha, Shihab, Naushad,
Indian Social Forum expressed their deep appreciation and gratitude to the doctors, staff and management of blood bank, forum’s members and donors.
