Qatar: South Kanara Muslim Welfare Association elects new body

Doha, Feb 26: South Kanara Muslim Welfare Association, Doha, Qatar (SKMWA), an affiliated forum at ICC, with members hailing from coastal Karnataka, held its 20th General Body Meeting in Mazza Restaurant to elect the new committee for 2013.

The meeting started with recitation of the verses of Holy Qu'ran by Mr Ayooub Ullal. President Abdualla Monu welcomed the gathering and elaborated on the forum's activities during 2012. General Secretary Mohammad Shameem and Treasurer Abdul Nasir Ullal presented the annual and financial reports respectively to the members and obtained their approval.

Thereafter the 2012 management committee was formally dissolved and new office-bearers for 2013 were selected unanimously in the meeting as below:

President – Mr Ibrahim Beary Nitte

Vice Presidents – Mr Abdul Kasim Udupi and Mr Abdul Kareem Kinnigoli

General Secretary – Mr Suhaib Ahmed Managalore

Joint Secretaries – Mr Rizwan Ahmed and Mr Abdul Majeed Haleangadi

Treasurer – Mr Sulaiman Mundkur

Joint Treasurer – Mr Amir Hamza BC Road

Special Needs –Mr. M.Iqbal Manna, Mr Abdulla Monu, and Mr Mohammad Shameem

Advisors – Mr CK Firoz, Mr Mohammad Kunhi Ujire, Mr Ismail Jokatte and Mr Moinuddin Melaga.

Sports Committee – Mr Rahmath Ali Punjalkatte, Mr Nasir Manjeshwar, Mr Imran M F, Mr Irfan Ibrahim, Mr Mohammad Thoufeeq, Mr Saleem Ullal, Mr Nazir Shirva.

Active Members – Abdul Hameed Haleangadi, Aboobakkar Jokatte, Ibrahim Baikampady, Ihtisham, Ayoob Ullal, Abdul Basheer Parangipete, Mohammad Ali Punjalkatte, Moosa Kunhi, Arabi Kunhi

Newly elected President Mr Ibrahim Beary also spoke on this occasion.

The programme was compered by Mohammad Shameem. It concluded with lunch.

Kuwait City, Aug 9: Indian social forum organised Blood Donation Camp in association with central blood bank kuwait on Friday, 7th August 2020.

The forum organised camp to support the high demand of blood in the context of COVID-19.

All arrangements to maintain COVID-19 protocol were made in the camp including segregation of donors as branch wise batches along with strict safety measures of participants.

Forum also had donated blood to many patients during the lockdown period. 

Hundreds of people donated blood in the camp. The camp organised in Blood Bank, Jabriya was successfully managed by Dr. Asma Rafat and leaders of Indian social forum Vice President Aslam, Secretory Sayyid Bukhari Thangal, Moideen Koya, Khaleel, Aseem, Mohammed Sha, Shihab, Naushad,
Indian Social Forum expressed their deep appreciation and gratitude to the doctors, staff and management of blood bank, forum’s members and donors.

Riyadh: On the occasion of 71st Republic Day of India, Karavali Welfare Association Riyadh (KWAR) conducted BLOOD DONATION CAMPAIGN on the 17th Jan 2020 at KING SAUD Universities King Khalid University Hospital, Riyadh. 

This is one of KWARs Prestigious Humanitarian EVENT every year, as we are indebted to serve the society for a Great Cause.

The campaign began at 08:30 am with a theme of Republic Day Celebrations and went on till 3:30 pm. Irrespective of Friday being a weekend and holiday people came in good numbers to donate Blood. The Hospital Staff, The Doctors and the Blood Bank Technicians and others at King Khalid University Hospital were more than happy to serve all those who have participated in this campaign.

KWAR Thanks all the Hospital Staff especially Mr. Salman Baqsh for his introduction of KWAR to Blood Bank and all the arrangements for this campaign, without his support this could not been done. Dr. Zafar Mahmoud for his wonderful support during the campaign and Mr. Abdullah Al Saman for his outstanding Hospitality throughout the campaign. KWAR also thanks all the donors who came all the way voluntarily for this Great Humanitarian Cause. As a token of gesture KWAR awarded Certificate of Appreciation to all the participants.

And KWAR would like to thank specially Mr. Nasir, Representative of Blood Helpline Karnataka, who encouraged many donors and made them to actively participate and donate blood for this noble cause.

KWAR’s core activities was on display on the screen, with most of the Committee members were present at the venue to serve the donors. KWAR thanks all the members, the Executive committee and all those who took their valuable time to organize this event successfully and thank all our well-wishers who supported us for the BLOOD DONATION CAMPAIGN. We in KWAR wish every Donor and the participants a healthy life ahead, and we need everyone's active participation in all our Future events.

The Overseas Indian Cultural Congress (OICC), Bahrain, has charted aircrafts to repatriate stranded expatriates to India. 

Boby Parayil, General Secretary, OICC National Committee, Bahrain has thanked all those who supported in this cause.

“The aircrafts were not licensed and were in crisis until the last minute. Finally, Mohammed Mansoor, president of Bahrain chapter of Indian Overseas Congress approached IOC Middle East in charge Dr Arathi Krishna, who helped get permission to operate flight to Kozhikode,” he said in a release. 

All mandatory approvals from the Foreign Ministry of Affairs and other government officials were accomplished by Dr Arathi Krishna. OICC has expressed gratitude to her for her timely support, he said. 

OICC is also grateful to former Kerala chief minister Oommen Chandy for doing necessary arrangements to get all the approvals for flight landing in Kerala, he added.
