Mogaveers UAE, Balakrishna Salian feted

Dubai, Feb 27: Mogaveers UAE and Balakrishna M. Salian were honored by Al Ameen, Dubai recently at the Al Bustan Rotana Ballroom, Dubai for their services to the society.

While Balakrishna M. Salian, fondly known as “Bala Anna” was felicitated for his honorary services Mogaveers UAE was felicitated for conducting blood donation camps.

The program was meant for the Group who had organized the Blood Donation Camp and for the Donors who turned up during the (DAMI LE WATANI CAMPAIGN) blood donation held at Global Village on the UAE’s 41st National Day.

Mogaveers UAE organized camps for the five consecutive years bring together over 167 blood donors for a noble cause, especially on the UAE National Day. The credit for organizing this Blood Donation Camp goes to Balakrishna M. Salian who has taken a personal interest to serve the society by bringing all the Mangaloreans and other Karnataka associations together to serve this noble cause.

Till date, Balakrishna M. Salian has conducted more than 45 camps in the last five years. Bala Salian thanked all the Mangalorean Associations for their continuous co-operation and support. Mogaveers UAE dedicate this Certificate of Appreciation to all the members and donors.

Jals-e-Uchila get-together held in Dammam

Markaz Al Madeena Association, Eastern province, conducted JALS-E-UCHILA get together program at Dammam, Saudi Arabia on March 5,2020 on account of celebrating 28 years of social service dedicated by the organization.

The event chairman Noushad Uchil inaugurated the function. The organization president presided the program and delivered talk about the intention of the organization. Hashim Uchil has intorduced the social and academic contribution of the organization of past 28 years. Jamal Uchil welcomed the gathering and Ismail G.I. host the program.

Games, Quiz and prize distribution to the winners and senior social workers was the special attraction of the event. The planning committee of the event includes Iqbal, Farooq, Shahul Hameed, Ramza, Nabeel, Afthar, Ashraf and Shafi.

Living with cornavirus: Indian Social Forum, Dammam holds webinar

Dammam: Indian Social Forum, Dammam, Karnataka chapter organized a "Live along with COVID-19" webinar on 29 May 2020 in association with HealthCare Polyclinic, Dammam.

The webinar at Zoom App. featured over 150+ resident Kannadigas from Saudi Arabia's eastern and neighboring provinces.

Dr. Shailendranath made a presentation on the program and gave useful information. Indian Social Forum Dammam, Karnataka Chapter President Sharif Joktake delivered the keynote address. General Secretary Irshad Jokatte stalled the program.

KSCC holds blood donation drive in Dubai

Dubai: A blood donation drive was conducted by Karnataka Sports and Cultural Club (KSCC) at in Al Wasl Club Stadium here on Friday, 26th June 2020.

The drive started around 1:00 pm and continued till 4:00 pm as per schedule provided by the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) Blood Donation Centre and 60 people donated blood to support the Blood Bank. The drive was well organised by maintaining social distance in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.

As blood cannot be produced but only can be donated, this drive will help many patients in need of blood during emergencies. Donors were also feeling proud and happy at this moment thinking of saving someone’s life.

DHA Blood Donation Centre staff carried out the screening and testing done in very well manner keeping social distancing during this pandemic. Volunteers of KSCC were also helping the staff to keep people in safe distance and to make this drive a success.

KSCC Manager Mr. Mohammad Shafi and other office bearers were present at the event venue. KSCC thanked the volunteers, Community Development of Authority (CDA), Dubai Health Authority (DHA), Blood Donation Centre, Government of Dubai and Al Wasl Club Stadium for making the event successful.
