VAFI holds its first general body meeting

Doha, Mar 17: The first general body meeting of Visual Arts Forum India (VAFI) was held on Friday at the residence of Dr. Mohan Thomas, who was unanimously elected as the Chief Patron of the organisation.

This was the first General Body Meeting of VAFI, which is a voluntary cultural association formed in Qatar to nurture, promote and develop artist of Indian origin living in Qatar.

The Association shall be affiliated to the Indian Cultural Center (ICC) under the aegis of the Indian Embassy, Qatar.

A total of 22 Indian Artist living and working in Doha turned up for the meeting.

Agenda for the meeting was to discuss the Constitution and by-laws of VAFI, appointment by consensus of Executive Committee, and general discussion of how VAFI will function to provide information, professional development, knowledge and sharing to individual member artists as well as to groups and networks across Qatar.

The Executive Committee members were also appointed. They are  Dr. Sreekumar Padmanabhan (President), Mahesh Kumar (Vice- President) , Mr. Patric Rozarioas (Secretary) and Smita Aloni (Treasurer).

Kuwait City, Aug 9: Indian social forum organised Blood Donation Camp in association with central blood bank kuwait on Friday, 7th August 2020.

The forum organised camp to support the high demand of blood in the context of COVID-19.

All arrangements to maintain COVID-19 protocol were made in the camp including segregation of donors as branch wise batches along with strict safety measures of participants.

Forum also had donated blood to many patients during the lockdown period. 

Hundreds of people donated blood in the camp. The camp organised in Blood Bank, Jabriya was successfully managed by Dr. Asma Rafat and leaders of Indian social forum Vice President Aslam, Secretory Sayyid Bukhari Thangal, Moideen Koya, Khaleel, Aseem, Mohammed Sha, Shihab, Naushad,
Indian Social Forum expressed their deep appreciation and gratitude to the doctors, staff and management of blood bank, forum’s members and donors.
