Haneef N S elected president of DKMO-Riyadh

Riyadh, Mar 24: The Dakshina Karnataka Muslim Okkoota(DKMO) - Riyadh conducted its fourth annual general body meeting recently at the Conference Hall of the East Ramad Hotel.

Over 200 members, who represented most of the taluks of South Karnataka, attended the meeting.

The meeting started with the recitation of some verses of the holy Quran by Mohammed Musliar. The programme was compered by Haneef N.S. who invited the Treasurer Abbas Uchil to present the Balance Sheet for the term. The Accounts were accepted by the gathered members.

The general secretary, Abdul Aziz Bajpe briefed about the progress of DKMO activities and the funds disbursed for various cases.

Yusuf Baithar, President of DKMO addressed the audience by quoting verses from the Holy Quran and Hadith to bring out the feeling of brotherhood amongst Muslims and the qualities required of every Muslim, to understand and support his fellow men. He also announced the new initiative of DKMO to fight against the menace of dowry and the plan to garner support from individuals and other organisations.

The president then dissolved the existing committee and called Sheikh G.K and Abdul Lathif to conduct the elections. Members were asked to voluntarily join the new committee and lend a hand in carrying out the noble task. An astounding 41 members joined the new committee. The office bearers were elected unanimously and the list for the new term is as follows:

(President), Nazeer Kashipatna and Imtiyaz Shaikh (Vice Presidents), Muzaffar Ali (Gen Secretary), Asif Kannur (Joint Secretary), Abbas Uchila (Treasurer), Abbas Ullal (Joint Treasurer), Abdul Aziz Bajpe (Co-ordinator), Fazalur Rehman Gangully (Auditor), Yusuf Baitar abd Ismail Shafi (Advisors), Abubaker Bondel (Co-ordinator), Abdul Lathif (Media Co-ordinator) and and 28 other committee members

The new President Br. Haneef N.S called all brothers of the community to support DKMO in its efforts and enroll new members to make the task easy and make DKMO a success.

DKMO – Riyadh has been in existence for the past four years and in the forefront of providing support to the community members at the time of need. It has been working hard on their unique program FRF (Family Relief Fund) scheme, whereby each member is enrolled for a sum of SR 100.

In event of death of a member in Saudi Arabia, the committee spreads the word to all members to contribute a minimal sum of SR 25, so as to provide comfort to his family members back home. So far the families of 6 FRF members have received the funds following the death of the member.

Over the years DKMO has also provided air tickets to repatriate some ailing brothers who could not afford to pay for it. DKMO has also funded a Library and supported poor students for their education.

DKMO has not only contributed, but has also worked to collect funds for the release of an imprisoned brother in Saudi Arabia. Recently it has supported the education fees of a courageous Dr. Meha Jabeen who in spite of her disabilities, is pursuing her MD degree in Mangalore.

Doha: Qatar Indian Social Forum (QISF) once again set an example that no caste, creed, language and religion comes as hurdle for their humanitarian services and helped to perform last rites of Ramesh who committed suicide in Doha-Qatar.

45-year-old Ramesh son of K. Nagan hailing from Panikulam, Thrissur district in Kerala, who was working as a tailor committed suicide in his house at Ruwias in Qatar on 30th May 2020.

On hearing this news, some of his friends in Kearla informed Mr. Shihab who is also from Thrissur and a member of QISF and the same was brought to the notice of QISF humanitarian team head Mr. Abdul Latheef Madikeri and Basheer Ahmed of Tamil Nadu.

Immediately, the QISF team intervened and contacted the family members of the deceased in India and discussed the matter and consequences of sending the body back home to India in this pandemic COVID 19 situation.

Considering the prevailing situation, the family members gave the consent to bury the body in Qatar itself.

QISF team collected the required documents from the family of the deceased and managed to clear all the necessary formalities from the police department, Health Department, Embassy of India and Hamad Medical Corporation.

Finally, the body of the deceased was buried in Qatar on 7th June 2020 and the copies of all the relevant documents have been handed over to the family members.

The family members of the deceased thanked and applauded the leaders and all the members of QISF for their effective and on time humanitarian service rendered even in this pandemic crisis and having no bias.

Dubai, May 20: Dubai-based Karnataka Sports and Cultural Club’s humanitarian services in charge Naseer Karaje team have appreciated the efforts of Dakshina Kannada Deputy Commissioner, Mangaluru Airport director, NGOs of Mangaluru, and MLA for extending a royal welcome to second batch of repatriates from Dubai that landed at Mangaluru Airport on May 18.

There was so much of confusions when 1st batch of repatriation flight landed in Mangaluru airport on 12th May due to lack of proper arrangements and co ordination.

This time due to proper arrangements and special supervision by the DC everything was driven smoothly. It has given a confidence to all the Manglurean expats of Dubai in returning to their native places, the KSCC said.

Riyadh, Feb 24: Indian Islahi Center, Riyadh (IICR) kicked off the propagation campaign of "Learn the Quran" national conference, which is slated to be held on March 27, 2020 at Nofa Istiraha, Exit 18, Riyadh, Kingdom Saudi Arabia. It's IICR's 20th successful program.

Kerala Legislative Assembly's opposition leader & Congress leader, Ramesh Chennitthala inaugurated the campaign that was held at Voco Hotel in Riyadh, capital city of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Ramesh was on two days visit in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The objective of the campaign is to instil the keenness & to keep creating the continuous awareness amongst the community on Quran. It also enables to recite the Quran with Tajweed (science of reading the Quran) & correct form.

Aboobakker Edthanatukkara (President of IICR), Abdul Qayyum Bustani, Kunhi Kumbala, Abdullah Vallanchira, Adv. Abdul Jaleel, Naushad Ali Kozhikode, Mujeeb Ali Thodigappulam, Muhammad Kutty Kadannamanna, Fasal Rahman City Flower, Mujeeb Irumbuzhi, Jaleel Alappuzha, Arafat & others were present on the occasion.
