IMA holds public programme on Al-Isra Wal-M’iraj

Kuwait City, Jun 16: Indian Muslim Association (IMA), under the patronage of the Grand Mosque, Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, Kuwait, organised a public discourse on Al-Isra Wal-M’iraj’ at Masjid Yousef Al Adsani, here.

The function started after the Isha prayers with the recitation of holy Qur’an following its translation in Urdu language by Hafiz Abdurrahman.

Abdul Qadir Umeri, a noted Islamic scholar delivered a speech on the subject of the Journey of Al-IsraWalM’iraj’. He quoted the ayah 17:1 of the Holy Quran "Most glorified is the One who summoned His servant (Muhammad PBUH) during the night, from the Sacred Mosque to the farthest place of prostration, whose surrounding we have blessed, in order to show him from our signs. He is the Hearer, the Seer."

Explained the role of Salah, he said, Muslims are ordered to pray five times daily and in return they reap the benefits of paradise. It is a duty for every Muslim to perform the prayers at their prescribed times regularly. He further added, “It is a divine gift; a spiritual connection, ascension of the spirit to meet its Lord.

Noted Scholar Safat Alam Madani from IPC talked about the importance of implementing the 14 commandments of social reform mentioned in the Quran in our individual and collective life. He particularly emphasized on the importance of the rights of fellow human beings.

Shaikh Omer Gil, President of Jaliath Turkey was the chief guest of the function. He called for Islamic reform in the attitude of Muslims. He further stressed that the good deeds are the key for the success in this world and hereafter. Muzammil Malik, Vice-President IMWA (Indian Muslim Welfare Association) also graced the occasion. The programme was convened by Shamvel Parvez.

A parallel programme was arranged on the same subject was arranged in Masjid Hilal Al-Utaibi Fahaheel. The Program started with the recitation of Quran by Mr. Munawwar Hussain.

Hafiz Hafeez-ur-Rahman, a noted Islamic scholar delivered a speech on the subject of the Journey of Al-IsraWalM’iraj’. He briefly mentioned the event and the lessons of Al-IsraWalM’iraj’.

He mentioned various sayings of the Holy Prophet PBUH, such as during the Mi’raj the Prophet was shown people being punished for various types of sins. The Prophet (PBUH) saw those who committed adultery and their punishment, those who slandered, those who engaged in Usury and various other sins. Therefore, he said that we should remember these narrations and should stay away from such sins.

Abu Ala Shaheen elaborated on various activities of IMA. Mohammed Aslam former president IMA was present on the stage. The Programme was convened by Mohammed Minnathullah.

The function was attended by several hundred men and women. Dinner was arranged at the end of the programme.

Kuwait: Eid is usually a time of family get-togethers and feasts after weeks of dawn-to-dusk fasting. But this year people celebrated at home, with virus fears dampening the holiday spirit and strict restrictions in place.

Kuwait went under full curfew before the start of Ramadan leaving people to practice fasting and Ramadan rituals at home, Even Eid al-Fitr came under full lock-down period.

As situation demanded, IMA Kuwait celebrated the Eid Get-together online via video conferencing tool, All IMA members participated joyfully in Eid Milan online gathering which was scheduled immediately after Eid prayer. Members participated and congratulated each other on the eve of Eid.

The IMA president Shamvel Parviz addressed the gathering and thanked them for joining online for this unique Eid celebration which will be remembered in history. He also advised members to be aware of conditions of neighbors, friends and family and assist them if they need help in this difficult time.

Eid al-Fitr follows weeks of fasting and marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan. Thousands of Muslims all over Kuwait followed strict guideline and performed Eid prayer at home along with their family.

As a part of social service activities IMA also distributed ration kits before start of Ramadan and during Ramadan for needy people all over Kuwait.

Dubai: Karnataka Sports & Cultural Club (KSCC) distributed Eid Kit across the UAE (Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Al Ain, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah to the ) needy people on Eid al Fitr.

KSCC President Mr. Mohammed Ismail Said: “Eid is a Symbol of Gratitude and Unity. As the last few weeks have been hard for each one of us, we wanted to stand in solidarity to celebrate Eid, by helping labours and needy people. He also said that “We are together to be part of UAE. Serving these meals is our core social responsibility."

KSCC recently conducted humanitarian services during COVID-19 pandemic in 2 phases and conducted Blood Donation Drive. They have also planned to conduct next Blood Donation Drive on 25th May, 2020.

The KSCC main objective is to develop the expatriate community into a well-nourished section of society in the areas of social, sports and cultural activities.

Mangaluru, May 22: An elderly cardiac patient from Dakshina Kannada, who was stranded in Saudi Arabia due to covid-19 lock-down, has finally reached his homeland thanks to the timely intervention by Humanity Forum Jubail and Indian Social Forum.

The elderly man hailing from Kadaba area of Dakshina Kannada was admitted to a hospital in Madinah. However, his condition continued to worsen due to lack of proper treatment. The efforts by his family members to bring him back home had not yielded results.

Meanwhile, one of the relatives of the patient, Ansari Suratkal, who happens to be a DKSC activist, brought the issue to the notice of the Karnataka unit of the Indian Social Forum in Dammam. ISF contacted Humanity Forum president Zakariya Jokatte, who helped the patient to speak directly union minister D V Sadananda Gowda in a video conference organised by coastaldigest.com.

Humanity Forum also persuaded the Indian Embassy to allow the stranded cardiac patient to fly back to India through Dammam-Bengaluru repatriation flight on May 20. 

However, it was not easy for the patient to travel from Madinah to Dammam International Airport due to lock-down and curfew. ISF not only obtained travel permission for him but also arranged vehicle. Jeddah and Riyadh units of ISF helped in obtaining permission letter in their respective places in spite of travel ban imposed by the police. Madinah unit of ISF arranged vehicle for transportation. Zakariya Jokatte bore the air ticket and other expenses of the patient.
