Saleem Shaikh elected president of JF Jubail unit

Jubail, Jun 22: The 10th general body meeting of Jam’iyyatul Falah, Jubail unit, was held recently Cook Xon Restaurant in Jubail, Saudi Arabia. Saleem Shaikh from Udupi was elected unanimously as the president of JF-Jubail unit for the term 2013-2014.

Fayaz Ahmed U opened the meeting with Islamic greeting and invited the guests Mohammed Ishaq, Mansour Ali Ahmed, President JF Dammam unit, Mohammed Farook, outgoing President of Jubail unit, Ibrahim Khaleel, General Secretary, Shaikh Mohammed, Treasurer and Raffi to the dias. In his welcome address Ahmed briefed the activities of Jam’Iyyatul Falah.

Mohammed Farook, in his presidential message thanked the committee for giving him the opportunity to lead JF Jubail Unit for two terms successfully.

Briefing about Jam’iyyatul Falah, he said that the first and foremost priority of Jam’iyyatul Falah is given to education, spreading literacy and all round development of the less privileged families in the community.

He gave the latest status of Green View Higher Primary school and High schools. More than a thousand students have availed hostel facility run by JF. The hostel has been renovated which contains 29 rooms fully occupied by students. Considering the demand from the students for hostel accommodation new hostel rooms construction on community development hall is on JF hands and already completed first floor which fully occupied by students. The second floor construction work is in progress now. JF installed five dialysis machines in Father Muller Hospital and one unit in Lombard Hospital, Udupi which was donated by wholehearted donors and hundreds of Kidney patients availed the facility of Dialysis just by paying the medicines cost, he said.

He briefed JF role in educating Muslim children, providing medical assistance to needy people and conducting social awareness programs. He also stressed the point that by the wholehearted support of donors, well-wishers and hard work of dedicated members JF achieved the peak of success and celebrating silver jubilee this year.

The annual report for the past year was presented by the general secretary Ibrahim Khaleel. He pointed out the various activities of Jubail unit for last one year and requested the members to continue their dedicated service and hard work for the betterment of JF in particular and community in general.

The finance report was read out by treasurer Shaikh Mohammed Raffi. He gave the complete picture of funds collection, remittances done to help JF projects in twin districts and balance cash on hand.

At the same time JF Jubail unit felicitated JF senior member and well wisher Saleem NCMS for his wholehearted support to JF on all activities. On behalf of Jubail unit President Br. Mohammed Farook awarded the Memento to Saleem NCMS.

In the guest's address from Mansour Ali Ahmed, Dammam unit president, Shahul Hameed, former Ameer, NRCC, Junaid, General Secretary requested the attendees to support JF.

Mansour Ali urged youths to take the challenge and Shahul Hameed stated that the educating Muslim children and helping needy people is not a favour we are doing but it was our responsibility.

Youth Icon Junaid explained how he got motivation to join JF and serve as General Secretary of Dammam unit is just by watching JF activities back home. Mohammed Rafeeq, Mangalore addressed the attendees and appreciated Farook’s efforts and Jubail unit’s performance for last two years.

Siddiq in his address requested to join hands with JF which running its activities since long period in South Canara and Udupi.

President dissolved the committee and election officers Mansour Ali Ahmed and Shahul Hameed facilitated smooth election process and the following members were elected as the new office bearers for the year 2013-2014:

In addition to 16 office bearers 19 executive committee members have been appointed and the meeting resumed.

Newly appointed president Saleem Shaikh in his address requested all JF-brothers to work together for the benefit of community. He said that he would try his level best to lead the unit with the help of all the members’ support.

The meeting started with recitation of Quran by Mohammed Ishaq. He explained the importance of social services and requested selfless service from all to uplift the needy people in our community.

The meeting concluded with vote of thanks by president Saleem Shaikh and Du’a by Mohammed Rafeeq Mangalore.

Jeddah: Indian Pilgrims Welfare Forum (IPWF) under the patronage of consulate General of India Jeddah related to welfare activities connected to Indian hajj pilgrims in particular and welfare functions of Indian community at large, organized Quran recitation competition for Indian students of age 10 to 14 residing in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Grand Finale was conducted Live online via Zoom virtual conference on Friday 15th May 2020 at 14:45 Hrs.

The Consul General Of India, Jeddah and Vice Patron IPWF, H.E.Mr. Md. Noor Rahman Shiekh graced the Grand Finale as honorable Chief Guest. The HOC, Consul Hajj and Director IPWF - Mr. Y Sabir attended as Guest of Honor, while the ever-exuberant President of the forum Mr. Ayyub Hakeem lead the event. A large number of Indian dignitaries and media personnel also joined this live event.

Judges panel included three experienced youths. First judge was the Prominent Hafiz and one of the best Qaris of his calibre, Hafiz Ismail Yahya Bilal, well educated in Qirat from Umm Al Qura University Makkah and currently persuing Masters. He also holds many honors and accolades from various international competitions and appreciations from Imaams of Haramain. The other judge, Hafiz Abdullah A.Mateen Usmani, first position winner, a record for being youngest Indian to win Jeddah Quran competition 2018 under patronage of Jeddah Governor.  Hafiz Farhan Abdur Rab, was the third judge, an Engineer by profession, as well as current Treasurer at IPWF.

Winners; Humeirah Masood Kazi and Furqan Mohammed Vasi Ahmed won Gold position. Maryam Jaffar and Adil Abdul Rasheed ranked Silver while Khatija Ehtesham Ali and Nadeem Noorisha ranked Bronze. Consolation prizes were given to Aamina Mustafa and Mohammed Ahsan Ali. The event was organized to encourage and boost the ambitions of young generation and inspring them to bring out their best in Quran Recitation

While speaking at the event Chief Guest H.E.Mr. Md.Noor Rahman Sheikh appreciated the social works of IPWF for Indian Community, praised the brilliant performance of students, He said it gives us great pleasure seeing that all participants, Judges and Jury members are Indians, he said the recitation of the children was fantabulous, and congratulated to the winners and participants. Chief Guest further said President Ayyub Hakeem and his IPWF Team deserves to be appreciated for their relentless efforts for this Noble cause, even in this period when the world is observing lockdown.

HOC, Consul Hajj Mr. Y Sabir appreciated IPWF team for organizing this virtual competition, he said it’s really amazing that 111 students registered to participate for the contest, he appreciated the hard work of children and efforts of parents for preparing their children.

Mr. Hakeem welcomed all and informed that this competition received overwhelming response from Indian community locally and internationally in short time since its launch was just couple of days earlier. Which compliments events Objective to encourage children “mainly Indians residing in Saudi Arabia” especially during the month of Quran “Ramadan” and lockdown period #COVID-19. 

40 contestants made it to the Semifinals, and 15 Students reached the Grand Finale, 2 young children were given consolation for their enthusiastic recitation. 

The President also appreciated his IPWF Team for unwavering support in preparation of this event.  He thanked the Chief Guest, HE Mr. Md. Noor Rahman Sheikh and Guest of Honor Mr. Y Sabir for gracing this glorious competition. He Thanked the audience and announced that all contestants will be awarded appreciation “digital certificate’

Syed Nasir Khursheed anchored the program, and entertained with beautiful Urdu couplets. Farhan Abdur Rab and Abdul Rahman Poyakkara conducted the contest flawlessly on time. Farhan, concluded the event with Vote of Thanks and soleful dua.

Jeddah: The first chartered flight for repatriation passengers from Jeddah to Bengaluru organized by Karnataka NRI Forum Jeddah – Saudi Arabia was successfully landed at Bengaluru airport by 01.00 am on 19th July 2020.

Spice Jet (SG9884) departed from King Abdul Aziz International Airport Jeddah by 05.00 pm local time with 177 stranded passengers which includes 12 Pregnant Woman, 3 infants, 44 Short term visa holders, 3 medical emergency patients and 115 migrate workers and labours from various districts of Karnataka state.

Karnataka NRI Forum Jeddah, a registered charitable organization under Government of Karnataka & Indian Consulate Jeddah - Saudi Arabia, helping the Kannadigas overseas & in Karnataka State as well, has initiated major role for helping stranded Kannadigas to travel back to home. During Pandemic hundreds of stranded Kannadigas were approached to the forum and requested to arrange special chartered flight to Bengaluru from Jeddah.

Initiating from collecting the data of passengers, the forum’s special panel including its President Mr. Mohammed Mansoor, Secretary Mr. Peter Mascarenes, Vice Presidents Mr. Nasir Khurshid, Dr.Ashfaque Maniyar, Chief Coordinator Mr. Shaikh Saoud, Cultural Secretaries Mr. Arifulla Shariff and Mr. Rajesh Suvarna, Treasurer Mr. Habib Rahman and Press Secretary Mr. Baig, the forum’s members have worked very hard to conclude this task very successful. 

The forum provided food packets as refreshment, complementary PPE kitsto each passenger as precaution against the spread of any infections while travelling and also guided all passengers by supporting them in Awdha portal (Saudi Passport Department) and Seva Sindhu portal registration of Government of Karnataka.

The official travel partner ITL Travel Management Company has rendered remarkable service to the passengers not only in ticketing but also supported with top priority in confirming the aircraft from SPICE JET and availed good service from ground staff at Jeddah Airport. 

All passengers have reached safely to their homes after completing the 7 days institutional quarantine at Bengaluru. 100% passengers had NEGETIVE report on Covid-19 test made on arrival as well as after institutional quarantine. 

In the press release published from the President, Mr. Mohammed Mansoor has expressed his prodigious gratitude to the Ambassador of India to Saudi Arabia H. E. Dr. Ausaf Sayeed, Deputy Consul General of India - Jeddah Mr. Y Saber and Chief Minister of Karnataka State Shri B. S. Yediyurappafor providing necessary approvals and NOC for the chartered flight operation. He also conveyed his boundless appreciationto Shri B. Y. Raghavendra, Member of Parliament Shimoga District (Karnataka) for his swift support extended to the forum and as well to Dr. Aarathi Krishna, Ex-Deputy Chairperson – NRI Forum of Karnataka – Government of Karnataka for her significant guidance and support on completing this mission.

The forum has thanked all the officers in King Abdul Aziz International Airport Jeddah and Kempegowda International Airport Bengaluru for the facilities provided to the passengers. The Forum has thanked all passengers travelled for their calmness and also thanked to all other members of the forum, Staff of ITL Travels and SPICE JET for their tremendous support extended throughout the mission accomplishment.

Kuwait: The Covid-19 pandemic has pushed the whole world into a difficult situation and the situation of Indians in Kuwait is not any different. Many people have lost their jobs, have no salary, are deprived of food and are not able to pay rent. The appalling conditions of labourers, domestic workers, taxi drivers and low waged earners don’t seem to end in Kuwait. 

At this trying situation when many people were even afraid of leaving their houses because of coronavirus, Suresh S. Rao Neramballi, volunteer of the Food Kit Distribution at the ICSG (Indian Community Support Group) has helped many tremendously. He was ready to go around delivering food kits at any time possible by his car. However, after Kuwait imposed a full curfew from 11th May 2020, no one could take out their vehicles unless they had a curfew pass. 

This did not stop Mr. Suresh Neramballi, who then borrowed a bicycle from a friend and ended up going around in the cycle delivering the food kits in curfew break time (4:30pm to 6:30pm) to all those who registered in the ICSG website. This selfless service surely commands appreciation and applause. Mr. Suresh Neramballi has been a light for many families and bachelors in Kuwait and will surely garner the blessings of them who have been able to eat at this time.

He was also the one who could deliver the food kits to many Indian Muslim maids, bachelors, laborers and families previous day and right on the day of EID, as they were not able to go shopping for their groceries for EID, due to the curfew. They blessed him in EID dua. 

Mr. Suresh Neramballi hails from Mangaluru, India and is an Engineer in the Oil sector company in Kuwait. He has been dedicated to social service, achieved 'Aryabhata International Award' for his Kannada Service and Social service, served in many Associations and Distributor of Kannada and Tulu Movies in Kuwait. He wholeheartedly thanks the people and government of Kuwait for his bread and butter.
