Kuwait: IMA hosts interfaith iftar get-together

Abu Halifa, Jul 31: The Fahaheel and Abu-Halifa units of Indian Muslim Association – Kuwait in cooperation with Islam Presentation Committee organised an interfaith iftar party at Sheikh Bader Ahmed Sabah hall, Abu Halifa.

Delivering a lecture on ‘Know your creator’, NRI activist Sharafuddin Soofi, said that belief in the God will have major implication in every aspect of every individual’s life and hence it should be an intelligent, well thought of choice rather than just a blind adherence of traditions. Quoting verses from various religious scriptures, he emphasised that all major religions fundamentally teach monotheism and similar attributes of God.

He further said that our own body which is very complex in nature with inherent temperature balancing system, digestive system, immunity against diseases proves that we have a creator and purpose of life.  God has provided us with intelligence and freedom of choice to make better choices for our life including faith in God.

He said, “God conscious person should be compassionate towards fellow human beings, animals and environment. God will not forgive any atrocities committed towards fellow human beings unless the fellow human forgives him.”  He also answered questions from the audiences on various aspects related to fasting and Islam.

Nisar Ahmed, a research analyst from Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research held a presentation on the impact of fasting on human life. He mentioned about the medical and spiritual benefits of fasting.

Jitendra Panchal, Balram Naidu, Bora Dwaipayan and T Bala, who were the guests of honor representing various major associations in Kuwait also addressed the audiences and appreciated the efforts of IMA in bringing together people from different faith.

Large number of people from various faiths and representatives of various associations attended the gathering. The programme was convened by Parvez Hanif. Vote of thanks was proposed by Mansur Abbas. The programme started with the recitation of the verses from the holy Quran by Master Omar Abdullah and concluded with a buffet dinner.

The Overseas Indian Cultural Congress (OICC), Bahrain, has charted aircrafts to repatriate stranded expatriates to India. 

Boby Parayil, General Secretary, OICC National Committee, Bahrain has thanked all those who supported in this cause.

“The aircrafts were not licensed and were in crisis until the last minute. Finally, Mohammed Mansoor, president of Bahrain chapter of Indian Overseas Congress approached IOC Middle East in charge Dr Arathi Krishna, who helped get permission to operate flight to Kozhikode,” he said in a release. 

All mandatory approvals from the Foreign Ministry of Affairs and other government officials were accomplished by Dr Arathi Krishna. OICC has expressed gratitude to her for her timely support, he said. 

OICC is also grateful to former Kerala chief minister Oommen Chandy for doing necessary arrangements to get all the approvals for flight landing in Kerala, he added.

Karnataka Sports and Cultural Club (KSCC) organized Blood Donation Camp at Latifa Hospital, Oud Mehta Dubai on April 23rd, 2020 in association with Dubai Health Authority (DHA) and with support from Community Development Authority (CDA) Government of Dubai.

Blood Donation Drive started in the morning at 7:30 am to 6:00 pm. Around 48 people participated in this drive and donated blood to support the Dubai Blood Bank.

A potential shortage of blood for transfusions has been occurred due to a significant reduction in voluntary blood donations during this time of the COVID-19 pandemic. The current pandemic, health services are now running with shortages of blood availability. To support the DHA Blood Bank KSCC taken initiative to ensure that blood donations continued and are safe for both the donor and the recipient.

After taking safety precaution and safe distance during the blood donation donors feeling happy and honored to participate and donate blood at this pandemic situation. Club Manager Mr. Mohammad Shafi was also present during this event.

KSCC appreciated all the blood donors and be grateful to Dubai Health Authority (DHA), Community Development Authority (CDA), and Government of Dubai for their association for this event. They also thanked the volunteers and supporters.

Kuwait City, Aug 9: Indian social forum organised Blood Donation Camp in association with central blood bank kuwait on Friday, 7th August 2020.

The forum organised camp to support the high demand of blood in the context of COVID-19.

All arrangements to maintain COVID-19 protocol were made in the camp including segregation of donors as branch wise batches along with strict safety measures of participants.

Forum also had donated blood to many patients during the lockdown period. 

Hundreds of people donated blood in the camp. The camp organised in Blood Bank, Jabriya was successfully managed by Dr. Asma Rafat and leaders of Indian social forum Vice President Aslam, Secretory Sayyid Bukhari Thangal, Moideen Koya, Khaleel, Aseem, Mohammed Sha, Shihab, Naushad,
Indian Social Forum expressed their deep appreciation and gratitude to the doctors, staff and management of blood bank, forum’s members and donors.
