Kuwait India Fraternity Forum organizes annual sports day

Kuwait, Oct 29: Kuwait India Fraternity Forum (KIFF) organized annual sports day on October 18 at Riqqa Stadium.

Saifudheen Nalakath, President of KIFF inaugurated the event. The stadium was packed with hundreds of forum members across Kuwait.

Shamsheer (Karnataka), Razik Rahman (Tamilnadu), Shiabudheen (Kerala) and Shameer (Delhi) were present on the stage.

The spectacular event kicked off with march-past of five groups namely Blue, Green, Yellow, Red and Orange at 2 p.m. in a mass packed stadium.

Group Orange bagged the overall championship with 18 points. Group Red placed in second with 7 points while group Blue and Green shared the third place with 6 points each and Yellow got only 3 points and placed in fourth.

Orange won in Football, Volleyball and Kabaddi matches and Blue showed their power in Tug of War competitions. Ladies and kids were enjoyed various competitions arranged exclusively for them.

The prizes were distributed for the winners by senior members of Kuwait India Fraternity Forum during the conclusion ceremony.

Shakeel Ahmed anchored the program and Sirajuddeen proposed the vote of thanks.

Dammam: Indian Social Forum, Dammam, Karnataka chapter organized a "Live along with COVID-19" webinar on 29 May 2020 in association with HealthCare Polyclinic, Dammam.

The webinar at Zoom App. featured over 150+ resident Kannadigas from Saudi Arabia's eastern and neighboring provinces.

Dr. Shailendranath made a presentation on the program and gave useful information. Indian Social Forum Dammam, Karnataka Chapter President Sharif Joktake delivered the keynote address. General Secretary Irshad Jokatte stalled the program.

Dubai, Aug 6: Non-resident Indian entrepreneur and philanthropist Dewakara Alva passed away on Thursday August 6. He was 63.

Alva, who hailed from Mangaluru, was the director of Federal Insurance Brokers LLC, Dubai and was residing in Dubai for around four decades. He was reportedly suffering from health problems for last few months. 

He was a patron of Tulu and Kannada language and culture in United Arab Emirates. He was a member of various NRI organizations including UAE Tulu Koota and UAE Bunts

Alva is survived by wife Saritha, daughter Powshali, and son Manal.

Kuwait City, Aug 9: Indian social forum organised Blood Donation Camp in association with central blood bank kuwait on Friday, 7th August 2020.

The forum organised camp to support the high demand of blood in the context of COVID-19.

All arrangements to maintain COVID-19 protocol were made in the camp including segregation of donors as branch wise batches along with strict safety measures of participants.

Forum also had donated blood to many patients during the lockdown period. 

Hundreds of people donated blood in the camp. The camp organised in Blood Bank, Jabriya was successfully managed by Dr. Asma Rafat and leaders of Indian social forum Vice President Aslam, Secretory Sayyid Bukhari Thangal, Moideen Koya, Khaleel, Aseem, Mohammed Sha, Shihab, Naushad,
Indian Social Forum expressed their deep appreciation and gratitude to the doctors, staff and management of blood bank, forum’s members and donors.
