In the next 5 years Ram Mandir is expected to be realised: Pejavar Seer

Ballari, Jun 5: As the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) had come to power for the second term, the dream of construction of the Ram Mandir at Ayodhya is expected to realised soon, Senior Vishwa Hindu Parishath leader and Seer of the Udupi Pejavar Mutt Vishvesha Thirtha Swamiji opined here today.

Speaking to newsmen here on Wednesday, the Seer said that with the BJP has come to the power at the Center and expected to get majority in the Rajya Sabha soon, the long pending demand of constructing the Ram Mandir at Ayodhya will become a reality.

Stating that the issue, which is before the Supreme Court, the Seer expressed confidence that "Apex Court will give its verdict in favor of the construction of the Ram Mandir".

Expressing dismay over the confusion on the majority being enjoyed in the State Assembly, Pejavar Seer suggested all the three parties came together and provide a good governance.

Maintaining all the political parties, which had accepted the Indian Constitution can not be called BJP as the non-secular, he said that "let all the three parties came together and work for the overall interests of the people of the State".

Replying to a question on West Bengal Chief Minister Mamatha Bannerjee, he criticised that the Trinamool Congress leader is supporting the illegal immigrants from Bangladesh.

Kota, May 9: Karnataka Yakshagana Academy has come to the rescue of artists in distress due to cancellation of all Yakshagana festivals following coronavirus outbreak and clamping of lock-down.

The academy spends lakh of rupees every year from the money sanctioned to it on training new artists, performances and documentation. However, no such activity was undertaken due to COVID-19. Hence, the academy is discussing to transfer a large amount of money to Yakshagana artists as emergency aid, Academy President Prof M A Hegde said here.

In a statement issued here on Saturday, he said that along with this aid the donations by the public and Yakshagana admirers too could be given to the artists.

Mangaluru, Jul 19: Two flights with 346 stranded Kannadigas from Sharjah and Dammam landed at Mangalore International Airport (MIA) on Saturday night.

MIA officials said on Sunday that the chartered flight from Dammam landed with 178 stranded people, while an Air India flight from Sharjah landed with 168 stranded passengers under the 'Vande Bharat Mission'.

All the passengers on their arrival underwent health checkup and were sent for seven days institutional quarantine. They will undergo swab tests during the quarantine period, health officials said.

Mangaluru, July 13: With the confirmation of four more deaths related to novel coronavirus, the covid-19 death toll in Dakshina Kannada has mounted to 50.

In fact, the four fatalities had occurred on Saturday. Today the authorities concerned that they were tested positive for Covid-19.

The deceased include two septuagenarians, a sexagenarian, and a 53-year-old. All of them were male.

Dakshina Kannada deputy commissioner Sindhu B Rupesh revealed that their comorbidities were diabetes in ICU, pneumonia in ICU, hepatitis in ICU, severe acute  respiratory infection and carcinoma of the lung respectively.
