Bengaluru, Oct 10: Former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda has said that the JD(S) has enough candidates to field in all the 28 Parliament and 224 Assembly segments.
Speaking to media persons in the city, he said that those aspiring to contest the next Assembly elections on the JD(S) ticket have been given one month’s time to prove their mettle in their constituencies.
Ticket has been assured for all the sitting MLAs, and candidates have already been decided for certain constituencies, he said.
“A meeting of aspirants has been organised on October 11 and deadlines will be given to them,” said Mr. Gowda, adding that candidates for all the 28 Parliamentary constituencies in Bengaluru has been decided.
Gowda said that he had taken over the party affairs and responsibilities after his son H D Kumaraswamy underwent a heart surgery a couple of weeks back.
“We will fight the elections on our own, without joining hands with national parties,” he said.
