Udupi, Dec 22: The health condition of 88-year-old Vishwesha Tirtha Swami of Pejawar Mutt who is being treated for extensive pneumonia at Kasturba Hospital in Manipal “is stable but continuous to be critical".
"No further improvement. He continues to be on ventilator support," the Medical Superintendent of the hospital said in a statement on Sunday.
Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa and Home Minister Basavaraj Bommai visited the hospital on Saturday.
Puttur, June 10: Passengers of a KSRTC bus had a miraculous escape while driver and conductor suffered minor injuries after it fell on a house below 25ft.
Police said that except for some minor injuries to the driver and conductor none of the 21 passengers were hurt.
The bus was bound for Ishwaramangala from Puttur when the mishap took place as the driver lost control over the steering.
The roof and walls of the house on which the bus fell was partially damaged.
Mangaluru, May 12: Air India will operate two flights - one each from Doha and Muscat - to bring back stranded Kannadigas from Qatar and Oman to Mangaluru next week.
The flight from Muscat to Mangaluru will be operated on May 20 via Bengaluru. It will depart from Muscat International Airport at 1.15 pm local time and reach Bengaluru at 6.15 pm. After the layover at Bengaluru airport, the flight will take off at 7.15 pm and land at Mangaluru International Airport at around 8.10 pm.
Doha – Bengaluru – Mangaluru flight is will be operated May 22. The flight will take off from Doha at 1.30 pm local time and will land at Bengaluru at 8 pm. It will take off from Bengaluru at 9 pm and land at Mangaluru airport around 9.35 pm.

Mangaluru, Feb 25: The coastal city of Mangaluru today witnessed yet another major agitation against infamous CAA, NPR and NRC with large number of people gathering at Kudroli’s Tipu Sultan Garden to register their protest against union government’s racist policies.
Addressing the gathering activist B R Bhaskar Prasad said, he knows the RSS inside out as he was associated with it for a prolonged period.
He said the ultimate aim of RSS is to establish a casteist society in India with the micro-minority community of Brahmins having complete control over all other major communities.
