No question of resigning; will wait till CBI submits report: George

Bengaluru, Sept 13: Minister for Bengaluru Development K.J. George has said that there was no question of resigning. He said he will wait till the CBI submits its report to the apex court.

Addressing presspersons on Tuesday, the Minister wondered whether the BJP wants to know the truth behind Mangaluru DySP M K Ganapathy’s death or his (George’s) resignation.

On allegations of the CID destroying digital evidences, Mr. George said: “The issue was between the CID and CBI. I don’t know anything about it as I was not even a Minister when Ganapathy committed suicide.”

On BJP State president B.S. Yeddyurappa’s claims of having evidences against the Minister, Mr. George said: “He made similar claims when IAS officer D.K. Ravi committed suicide. He is making such claims again, but I’m sure he doesn’t have anything of that nature.”

Bengaluru, Apr 7: With reporting of 12 positive cases of COVID-19 since last evening, including three women, the total number of confirmed cases in Karnataka increased to 175, including four deaths.

According to official sources, while three fresh cases of COVID-19 were reported from Bengaluru, two each had been reported from Bagalkot, Kalaburagi and Mandya, followed by one each at Gadag and Bengaluru Rural districts.

After a gap of over three weeks, two more fresh cases had been reported from Kalaburagi, which had reported the first death of the country.

Belthangady, May 15: Carcases of more than 50 monkeys were found at Bandaru gram panchayat in the taluka here on Friday.

The carcasses were found on the Kundalapalke-Padmunja road in Bandar village. Locals had seen the monkeys’ carcasses night of Thursday and informed authorities about it.

Kaniyuru Health Centre’s medical assistant Swatantra Rao and Ujire health Centre’s Medical Officer, Forest Department staff, veterinarians and local Panchayat officials visited the spot.

Mangaluru, Feb 26: Mangaluru Smart City Limited (MSCL) Managing Director Mohammed Nazir on Wednesday said that 13 Schools in eight wards, here, will be upgraded under the Area Based Development (ABD) of the Smart City Mission (SCM).

Mr. Nazir, in a statement, said that the Schools selected include Government Higher Primary School Car Street, Bastigarden, Neereshwalya, Hoigebazar Lower Primary School, Government Practicing HS, Balmatta Primary School, Balmatta Secondary School, Bunder Higher Primary School (Urdu), Bunder Government High School (Urdu) and Bolara East Government Primary School.

These Smart Schools will have IT-enabled interactive teaching and learning tools, computer labs and open reading plazas.
