North Karnataka state issue: HDK hits out at media for adding fuel to fire

Bengaluru, Jul 30: Continuing his tirade against media, Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy, has accused the television channels in the state of adding fuel to fire following his response to a BJP leader who suggested dividing the state.

Speaking to reporters in Bengaluru, he said: "The media is instigating people. You (media) are stoking the fire.”

“I have not made any wrong statements on the separate statehood issue. I had merely responded to BJP MLA Sreeramulu's statements. I had asked him where he would bring grants from if a separate state is created. I haven't said anything beyond this. But the media has been repeatedly airing this," he added.

Recently, Sreeramulu had demanded a separate North Karnataka state. In the budget discussion, he said that if the government neglected North Karnataka districts, then the demand for separate statehood would be intensified.

Reacting to Sreeramulu's statement, Kumaraswamy retorted at a public gathering in Channapatna asking him if he had the mettle to run a separate state.

The CM also rued that the people of north Karnataka had not voted him to power. Following this, some organisations and mutt heads called for a bandh in Belagavi on August 2.

Politician considering power as a job. If they have power/came into power, they will use and do temporary solution. If they are not ruling, they dont have any loyalty towards people. They will put everything on ruling govt, sit back, enjoys and most of the time makes the situation worst to get attention towards them, like Yeddy doing now

Chikkamagaluru, Jan 19: A Chikkamagaluru court on Saturday were sentenced to death two persons convicted of rape and murder 18-year-old girl in 2016.

Pradeep M, 32, and Santhosh, 24, of Vykuntapura in Sringeri taluk raped a 18-year-old girl while she was returning home from college on Februrary 16, 2016.

The crime in which a first year B.Com student who was walking towards her home in a footway was stopped, raped and murdered by the duo. The killers then had dumped her body in a discarded well.

Jeddah, Jul 9: Karnataka NRI Forum Jeddah, a registered charitable organization under Government of Karnataka & Indian Consulate Jeddah - Saudi Arabia, helping the Kannadigas overseas and in Karnataka state as well, has initiated played its role in helping stranded Kannadigas to travel back to home under Vande Bharath Mission. 

The first flight which was departed to Bengaluru from Jeddah through this mission had 155 passengers. The forum had helped hundreds ofstranded Kannadigas in reaching their destinations with majority passengers were on emergency medical issues and pregnant women.  Still hundreds of Kannadigas are looking ahead for the help to fly back.

Now, the forum has organized two separate charter flights with Spice jet for Mangaluru (IXE)on16TH July 2020 & for Bengaluru (BLR) on18TH July 2020 from Jeddah (JED) airport respectively, with the support of Indian Consulate Jeddah and the Karnataka State Government.

As the huge demands from Kannadigas having very limited seats availability, the passengers (from Karnataka Only) can book and confirm their tickets by submitting their booking data under the link given below. Priority will be given to passengers with critical needs.
