Nouman Ali Khan gives pep talk on Quran and Ramadan at IMA’s 'Welcome Ramadan'

Kuwait: Indian Muslim Association (IMA) in coordination with ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs and Islam Presentation Committee (IPC) organised a ‘Welcome Ramadan’ programme at Al-Arabi Indoor Stadium, at Al-Mansuria, Kuwait.

Acclaimed Islamic Scholar Founder and CEO of US based Bayyinah Institute Ustadh Nouman Ali Khan, who serves, as a lead instructor at Bayyinah-TV was the key speaker at the event. He inspired the people to learn the Book of Allah.

Delivering a talk on ‘Welcome Ramadan’, Khan emphasised that Ramadan is the month of Quran which is a constitution for Muslim Ummah. Month of Ramadan is a month long celebration of divine guidance blessed to humanity in the form of Quran. He reminded that Quran is revealed to Prophet Mohammed (pbuh), as a legacy of forefather prophet Ibrahim, who is revered by Christians, Jews and other communities as well. Unlike previous divine books, Quran is message and miracle at the same time and hence it will remain unchanged until the dooms day, he said.

He said that Ramadan is a training of righteousness given to Muslim ummah to develop strong will power against temptations and malicious thoughts.

Ejaz Ahmad Aslam, a leading Islamic Scholar from India and Peace TV speaker spoke on the importance of benefiting from the month of Ramadan. He explained what the holy month expects from Muslims. He said as the Quran is core of this month and therefore the implementation of the Quranic teachings is vital in every walks of human endeavour and character building.

After the lecture Nouman Ali Khan lead Isha Prayers attended by thousands of men and women at the football ground adjacent to Al Arabi Stadium Mansuriya, where he interacted with people and spent enough time answering to their questions.

Guests from Ministry of Awqaf, Yousuf Easa Al-Shuwayyeb- Head, Community section of Masjid Al-Kabir, , Addul Mohsin Al Lahu from Social Reformation Society, Khalid Al Saba from Islam presentation Committee and many dignitaries including IMA President Masood Shahab were present.

Sharafuddin B S compered the programme that started with the recitation of Quran by Mohammed Yaseen Ibrahim. Rizwan Danish, Jafar Sadik and Rizwan Ahmed managed the event. Media service for the event was provided by Vendor M/s. DSL (Digital Sound & Light).

Kuwait: Eid is usually a time of family get-togethers and feasts after weeks of dawn-to-dusk fasting. But this year people celebrated at home, with virus fears dampening the holiday spirit and strict restrictions in place.

Kuwait went under full curfew before the start of Ramadan leaving people to practice fasting and Ramadan rituals at home, Even Eid al-Fitr came under full lock-down period.

As situation demanded, IMA Kuwait celebrated the Eid Get-together online via video conferencing tool, All IMA members participated joyfully in Eid Milan online gathering which was scheduled immediately after Eid prayer. Members participated and congratulated each other on the eve of Eid.

The IMA president Shamvel Parviz addressed the gathering and thanked them for joining online for this unique Eid celebration which will be remembered in history. He also advised members to be aware of conditions of neighbors, friends and family and assist them if they need help in this difficult time.

Eid al-Fitr follows weeks of fasting and marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan. Thousands of Muslims all over Kuwait followed strict guideline and performed Eid prayer at home along with their family.

As a part of social service activities IMA also distributed ration kits before start of Ramadan and during Ramadan for needy people all over Kuwait.

Dammam: Indian Social Forum, Dammam, Karnataka chapter distributed Food Kits for Indian expatriates labors who were in trouble due to Corona lockdown on April 6, 2020 at a labor camp here in Al Khobar.

The labors, most of them are from the staes of Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh And Uttar Pradesh, were in trouble without food.

 Recieving the information leaders of Indian Social Forum immediately visited the camp to take survey.

Indian Social Forum with the help of donors distributed food kits. Indian Social Forum, Dammam, Karnataka Chapter president Mr.Mohammed Shareef Jokatte expressed gratitude for donors for their contribution.

Indian Overseas Congress (IOC) Chaiman Dr Sam Pitroda held video conference with senior IOC office bearers across Middle Eastern countries on 14th April 2020 to review the impact of COVID-19 pandemic among Indians residing in the region. Almost all speakers appreciated the efforts initiated and  implemented by  respective governments to contain spread of the deadly virus as well as measures taken towards welfare of the people affected by the lockdown. 

IOC Presidents, Mohammed Mansour - Bahrain, Abdullah Manjeri - Saudi Arabia, Dr J Ratan kunar - Oman and Girish kumar - Qatar, highlighted the quality treatment of patients and finacial aid provided by governments and other authorities. Bahrain IOC president Mansour , also  apprised about the 'Food for Needy' drive in Association with KHK Heroes foundation, initiated by HH Sheikh Khalid Bin Hamad Al Khalifa and quality treatments as well as financial aid to local and expat residents.

Anura Mathai, IOC  Global Event Coordinator, spoke about certain problems of Indians in the UAE. IOC Middle East Convener, Mansoor Palloor, emphasised and requested IOC Chairman to urge Indian government to arrange immediate repatriation of indians stranded in Gulf countries. AICC Secretary, Himanshu Vyas, IOC Secretary Dr Arathi Krishna, Dr Arshi Malik (Abha), Mohiuddin Sirajudeen (Jeddah), Advocate Joseph Palathara (Dammam) Prasad Kodru, Jayati Maitra Ziyad Ahmed (Qatar) and Khursheed Alam (Gen Secretary- Bahrain) also apprised the participants about various issues relevant to the pandemic and suggested further initiatives to be undertaken. 

Dr Sam Pitroda briefed about sustained and consolidated efforts by all IOC members  during this unprecedented situation facing the world and assured that he would convey IOC  concerns to the government and try his best to ensure all possible help is made available to all needy Indians.
