OCC Kerala is Saudi Premier League champion

Al Khobar: Saudi Premier League, the mega event of SBSA, held at SABSA grounds, Rakah- Al Khobar for 4 weeks came to an end with OCC Kerala lifting the trophy after defeating NGC by 51 Runs.

Electing to bat first, OCC Kerala piled up a huge total of 130 in their 8 allotted overs with the blistering batting display by Asif (40), Shamil (28) and Ranjit (25). In response, NGC managed to score only 79 with the help of Fayaz (20) and Ansaf 18 (runs).

Both teams in their semi-finals had defeated IMS and khobar United in nail biting finisher matches.

The post match closing ceremony was started with recitation of Quran by Master Abdullah. The vice president of SAB Mr. Salahuddin Salman welcomed all the spectators, guests and inviting following guests to the Dias honoring them with momentoes to Mr. Saleh Ayed Balharith al Najrani (President SAB), Mr. Mohammed Mahdi Dhafer Al Bahri (HR Manager SAB) Mr. Mudassar Rehan (Operation manager SAB),Mr. Umar Farooq (IT Manager SAB), Mr. Nazir Kazi (DCA Patron), Mr. Abulhasan Wadood (Executive secretary EPCA),Mr. Ashok Patel(DCA Presidentl),Mr. Iqbal Zamil , Mr Siraj (DCA secretary). Special guest Karnataka health minister U T Khader also attended the event and was honoured by Mr. Sallahuddin Salman with Mr. Asif Amaco.

Mr. Mansoor presented welcome speech and executed the prizes distribution session. OCC Kerala lifted the winner’s trophy and the NGC lifted runner-up trophy. Additionally, following players were recognized for their performance:

• FAYAZ from NGC for his outstanding performance throughout the tournament adjudged as man of the series and presented with brand new Bajaj Pulsar bike-150 and trophy

• Best Bowler, Kashif of khobar united received Samsung phone and trophy

• Best Batsman, Rajesh of OCC received Samsung phone and trophy

• Best out-fielder, Haris of NGC received Samsung phone and trophy

• Best Wicket keeper, Asif of RAISCO Riyadh received Samsung phone and trophy

Dubai, Aug 7: ‘Nama Tuluve’ Purushotham Salian, a staunch stalwart who always supported humanity and a strong pillar for Tuluvas in Dubai, passed away August, 4 at Al Tawam Hospital Al Ain. He was suffering from cancer and was admitted to Al Tawam Hospital Al Ain some time ago. He was on the last stage of illness which was not detected earlier.

His funeral last rites were conducted on Thursday August 7 at Jebel Ali cemetery in Hindu rites with a few of his family members present. Due to Covid pandemic, neither his body was able to be flown back to hometown nor could his two children come down to attend the funeral. However, it was said that his wish was to be cremated here in Dubai which unknowingly sometime back he whispered to one of his friends.

Purushotham had few years ago, survived a heart attack and fought back his life, though it had a minor paralytic effect on him. Even though, till recently he used to do his day-to-day work normally. He was a hard working personality and owned a readymade garment shop in Ajman and Dubai mostly taking care of clients with requirement of uniforms and coveralls. His dedication towards work was always appreciated by his clients who used to get their things delivered on time always.

He was never a publicity person and was helping the poor and needy in whatever ways he could silently. He strongly supported the community and was associated with Nama Tuluveru and Billawa community with commitment. He used to voluntarily come forward for the ground work of various functions of the community and used to be there until it was done perfectly.

Dammam: Indian Social Forum, Dammam, Karnataka chapter organized a "Live along with COVID-19" webinar on 29 May 2020 in association with HealthCare Polyclinic, Dammam.

The webinar at Zoom App. featured over 150+ resident Kannadigas from Saudi Arabia's eastern and neighboring provinces.

Dr. Shailendranath made a presentation on the program and gave useful information. Indian Social Forum Dammam, Karnataka Chapter President Sharif Joktake delivered the keynote address. General Secretary Irshad Jokatte stalled the program.

Karnataka Sports and Cultural Club (KSCC) organized Blood Donation Camp at Latifa Hospital, Oud Mehta Dubai on April 23rd, 2020 in association with Dubai Health Authority (DHA) and with support from Community Development Authority (CDA) Government of Dubai.

Blood Donation Drive started in the morning at 7:30 am to 6:00 pm. Around 48 people participated in this drive and donated blood to support the Dubai Blood Bank.

A potential shortage of blood for transfusions has been occurred due to a significant reduction in voluntary blood donations during this time of the COVID-19 pandemic. The current pandemic, health services are now running with shortages of blood availability. To support the DHA Blood Bank KSCC taken initiative to ensure that blood donations continued and are safe for both the donor and the recipient.

After taking safety precaution and safe distance during the blood donation donors feeling happy and honored to participate and donate blood at this pandemic situation. Club Manager Mr. Mohammad Shafi was also present during this event.

KSCC appreciated all the blood donors and be grateful to Dubai Health Authority (DHA), Community Development Authority (CDA), and Government of Dubai for their association for this event. They also thanked the volunteers and supporters.
