Bantwal, Jul 2: The offices of Additional Superintendent of Police, Dakshina Kannada and of the District Crime Information Bureau (DCIB) will be soon shifted from Mangaluru to Bantwal.

Inspector-General of Police (Western Range) P Harishekaran announced this at the Bantwal Taluk peace committee meeting held in B.C. Road on Saturday.
Shifting of the offices will help in effectively dealing with trouble makers, he said.
The police will crack down on persons allegedly involved in creating communal trouble and in the illegal sale of cannabis in the district, he added.
Critical of the persons behind recent group clashes in Bantwal, Mr. Harishekaran said it was here that he found persons who wanted to create problems and give it a different colour.
Mr. Harishekaran said the police were searching the persons behind the group.
“These criminal elements will feel the heat of law,” he said. The arrests will be made on the basis of evidence that have been gathered, he added.
Superintendent of Police C.H. Sudheer Kumar Reddy and Deputy Commissioner K.G. Jagadeesha also spoke.
