The grand wedding is scheduled for November 16 at the Palace Grounds in Bengaluru. The gala event will be aired live only by Janasri TV channel and no other media house has been permitted for reporting/live telecast of the programme.

A media centre will be set up near the marriage venue from where photographs/footage could be obtained. Lok Sabha member B?Sriramulu will be in charge of all these arrangements. The star night, to be held from November 12 to 15, is meant only for the family members and VIP?guests.

Big fat wedding

Reddy, who had invited reporters to his residence on Friday, gave details of the big fat wedding, during a chat over breakfast.

He offered to take scribes to Bengaluru by an air-conditioned bus and reserve rooms for them in a star hotel if they wished to attend the wedding. Parrying a question on the money being spent on the wedding, Reddy said that he would furnish information on his income and the marriage expenditure to the departments concerned, within one month of the event.

“Journalists can also obtain information under the Right to Information Act and make an interesting report,” Reddy quipped. Replying to a query, Sriramulu, who was also present on the occasion, said that around 50,000 guests were expected for the wedding.

Reddy was arrested by the CBI in 2011 on charges of large-scale illegal mining and the Supreme Court granted him bail in January 2015, on the condition that he shall not visit Ballari. However, following a plea by Reddy, the SC allowed him to visit Ballari for 21 days from November 1 in connection with the rituals relating to his

daughter's wedding.

If Modi has some self respect. he should expell Sriramulu from his party and bar all other BJP workers from attending this wedding

New Delhi, Feb 13: Two SpiceJet pilots have been suspended today for an improper landing at Mangalore Airport which damaged three runway edge lights. The incident took place on October 31 last year when the private carrier's Boeing 737 aircraft was returning from Dubai.

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) suspended the licenses of the pilots for four-and-half months from the date of the incident.

DGCA had issued a show cause notice to the Pilot in Command and the First Officer demanding explanation of the "lapses" and found their replies unsatisfactory, the aviation watchdog said in a statement.

Investigation revealed that the touchdown was improper as it deviated to the the left on the runway in turn damaging three runway edge lights.

Bengaluru, Jan 16: Members and activists of social organisation Rakshana Vedike on Thursday staged a protest and demanded the arrest of BJP MLA Somashekhara Reddy, for his 'provocative' remarks and statements.

The protesters gathered near Gandhi’s statue near Maurya circle in the city and demanded that the BJP MLA should be arrested immediately.

The protesters alleged that Reddy’s remark were aimed at inciting communal hatred and that his remarks do not do justice to his being an elected representative of the people in the state assembly.

"Peng Yinhua, a frontline doctor at Jiangxia First Hospital in virus epicenter #Wuhan, died of #COVID19 on Thursday night. He had earlier delayed his wedding as he wanted to treat patients with the disease at hospital," state-run Global Times tweeted on Friday.

He died from the virus despite doctors' all-out efforts to save his life.

Chinese health authorities have asked health agencies to apply for the honour of martyr for deceased medical staff to the veteran's affairs authorities, comfort the families of the deceased and help solve their difficulties, as well as publicise stories of those who sacrificed their lives during the epidemic, state-run Xinhua news agency reported.

Li Wenliang, the 34-year-old Chinese doctor, who was one of the first people to sound the alarm about the new outbreak died on February 7.

Li sent a message to his medical-school alumni group on December 30, warning that seven patients had been quarantined at Wuhan Central Hospital after coming down with a respiratory illness that seemed like the SARS coronavirus. But Wuhan police reprimanded and silenced Li.

Earlier, Dr Liu Zhiming, head of the Wuchang Hospital died due to the virus. On the same day Liu Fan, senior nurse of the hospital, died along with her parents and brother due to the virus.
