Bengaluru, Feb 12: As both the Opposition Bharatiya Janata Paty and the ruling JD(S) and Congress Coalition partner members differed over the over the issue conducting a Special Investigation Team (SIT) probe into the alleged audio-recording, into the Operation-Lotus, forced the Karnataka Assembly adjourned twice on Tuesday.
As soon as the house assembled for the day, J D Madhuswamy (BJP), referred the issue of the Speaker’s order on the SIT probe and sought the chair to reconsider his decision ass it would serve no purpose in unraveling the truth.
Maintaining that the SIT probe, need not bind to report to the Legislature, as it is subservient the Judiciary, the BJP member said that “already there are several instances wherein the SIT is not bound to give its report to the Legislature as it is answerable to the Judiciary”.
