After a Hollywood awards season of statement red carpets including "blackouts" at the Golden Globes and Baftas, the movie industry`s finest embraced a rainbow of colour Sunday at the Oscars.

From classic white to fire engine red, with shades of teal, fuchsia, powder blue and lavender mixed in, here are some highlights of the style parade on Tinseltown`s biggest night: White is associated with the suffragette movement, and on Sunday, many of Hollywood`s top stars embraced it.

Get Out star Allison Williams was one of the first stars on the red carpet and her look was killer -- a cream beaded Armani princess gown with sheer cap sleeves that earned raves in the Twitterverse.

Jane Fonda also embraced the ice princess look, looking fabulous at age 80 -- !! -- in a sculpted white Balmain gown with a geometric neckline.

Laura Dern -- who joined the Star Wars family last year in The Last Jedi and will present an award on Sunday with her co-stars -- wowed red carpet watchers in a Calvin Klein gown with a large tie draped over one shoulder.

And Mary J. Blige -- the first person to be nominated for acting and song writing for the same film, Mudbound -- wore a white gown with a glittering bodice and an asymmetrical neckline. She will perform during the gala.Allison Janney -- seen as the favorite to take home the Oscar for best supporting actress for her searing portrayal of figure skater Tonya Harding`s mom LaVona in the biopic I, Tonya -- looked ready for her close-up.

The statuesque actress was red-hot in a show-stopping fire engine red Reem Acra gown with flowing sleeves, a plunging neckline -- and plenty of diamonds to fill the gap.

"This is my first time at the Oscars," she told E! television. "It`s pretty overwhelming."

Three-time winner Meryl Streep also wore red -- a simple gown with a deep-V neckline and three-quarter-length sleeves. She is again a nominee this year, for Pentagon Papers drama The Post. Some of America`s top Olympians graced the red carpet, including bronze medalist figure skaters Mirai Nagasu -- in an ethereal powder blue Tadashi Shoji gown -- and Adam Rippon, sporting a curious black bondage-inspired harness jacket.

Skier Lindsey Vonn, who earned bronze in the downhill competition, bared some skin in a sheer black sequined lace gown with flapper fringe.Hollywood`s men tried to look classic and make a statement at the same time.

Oscar nominee Jordan Peele -- who wore a snappy red jacket to Saturday`s Spirit Awards, where he took home the top prize for horror satire Get Out -- went for a white dinner jacket on Sunday.

The star of his film -- Britain`s Daniel Kaluuya, also a nominee -- wore a striking brown jacket with black lapels.

One of Kaluuya`s competitors, Timothee Chalamet (Call Me By Your Name), went for an all-white suit and the best accessory -- his mom.

And Call Me screenwriter James Ivory paid Chalamet the ultimate compliment -- wearing a shirt with the actor`s face on it.

Mumbai, Jul 27: Action director Parvez Khan, known for his work in films like Sriram Raghavan's Andhadhun and Badlapur, died on Monday after suffering a massive heart attack. He was 55.

Parvez, who worked in the industry since 1986, was rushed to Ruby Hospital after he complained of chest pain, his longtime associate Nishant Khan told PTI. "He suffered a major heart attack in the morning. He was rushed to the hospital but was pronounced dead. He didn't have any health issues but felt chest pain last night," Nishant said.

Filmmaker Hansal Mehta, who worked with Parvez in the National Award winning 2013 drama Shahid, said the action director was extremely skilled. "Just heard that action director Parvez Khan is no more. We had worked together in Shahid where he executed the riots sequence in a single take. Very skilful, energetic and a good man. RIP Parvez. Your voice still rings in my ears," Hansal tweeted.

Parvez started his career by assisting action director Akbar Bakshi in films like Akshay Kumar's Khiladi (1992), Shah Rukh Khan's Baazigar (1993) and Bobby Deol-starrer Soldier in 1998. It was with Ram Gopal Varma's Ab Tak Chhappan in 2004 that he started working independently and went on to have a long-standing collaboration with filmmaker Sriram Raghavan in films such as Johnny Gaddaar (2007), Saif Ali Khan-starrer Agent Vinod in 2012 and Badlapur, featuring Varun Dhawan. Mumbai, May 12: Superstar Salman Khan on Tuesday released his latest romantic single "Tere Bina" featuring Jacqueline Fernandez while in quarantine at his Panvel farm house.

The actor, along with close family and friends from the industry, including Iulia Vantur, Waluscha De Sousa, is living in the farm house. This is the second song Salman has released amid the coronavirus pandemic, after "Pyaar Karona."

"About seven weeks ago, when we came to the farm, we didn't know we will be here under a lockdown. So we wanted to do things to keep ourselves busy. That's when we decided to do these songs. We launched 'Pyaar Karona' and now, we are launching 'Tere Bina'," Salman said in a statement.

The song, sung and directed by Salman, is composed by his friend Ajay Bhatia and written by Shab bir Ahmed.

The actor said he had the song "Tere Bina" with him for quite a while but because it wasn't fitting into any of his film, he decided to release it now.

Jacqueline said she didn't think they would be able to shoot the song, which they finished in four days of evening shoots, with such limitations.

"We are used to shooting songs on a large stage with grand production costs. There are costumes, hair, make up. All of a sudden, we find ourselves with a team of three people. For the first time, I was checking lighting and moving props around. It was a great experience and it taught us how to make the most of what we have," she said.

Salman recently sent out food packets and ration from his farm house to those affected by the lockdown.
