Kundapur, Oct 31: Karnataka Forest officials on Thursday rescued 21 buffaloes while they were being illegally transported to a slaughterhouse in Kerala and arrested the duo involved here at Naykodi check post on the State Highway 27 near Kollur.
Forest officers K Dayananada and Janardhana Poojary were conducting a routine check-up when they found 12 male and nine female bovines hurdled in one corner of a truck they had stopped.
Mangaluru Mar 30: The Mangaluru South Police has registered a criminal case against a man over a 'derogatory post' against the district administration. According to DC Sindhu B Rupesh, the man identified as Melwyn Pinto had sent a derogatory message on WhatsApp.
She warned on taking stringent action against miscreants who are spreading false information and rumours about district administration under DM Act provisions.
Meanwhile, City Commissioner of Police Dr P S Harsha said, "We have noticed people going around on merry rides without purpose either on two-wheelers or in cars during the lockdown period."
Bengaluru, Apr 1: Karnataka government along with BBMP has asked project contractors, builders and developers in the city not to send their labourers to their native place and instead provide them with amenities like food and shelter in this lockdown period.
It was also warned with legal action would be taken against them if they violating the instructions from the government .
Mangaluru, Jul 21: Private hospitals cannot send back COVID-19 patients for any reason, district in-charge minister Kota Srinivas Poojary said on Monday.
The Minister was addressing a meeting at the Father Muller Medical College here on the arrangements made for COVID-19 patients.
Dakshina Kannada district is quite advanced in the medical field. Hence, the government will not tolerate COVID-19 patients wandering from one hospital to another for treatment. Refusing to admit COVID-19 patients in hospitals is unacceptable, he warned.
