The former Congress MP was gheraoed when she was coming out of the Airport by protesters and eggs were thrown at her car.

Ramya was travelling from Kadri from the Airport to participate in a programme when the incident took place. The protesters are believed to be members of Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Bajrang Dal and ABVP.

She was escorted by the police away from airport to attend a local event.

“I was told by the police that eggs were thrown. It was part of the convoy…I don't know which car was hit by eggs,” Ms Ramya said.

Ramya has been facing sedition charge after saying that she did not agree with Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar's comments that Pakistan is a hell.

"I love Mangaluru. People of Mangaluru are so sweet," she told the gathered media at Mangaluru International Airport on her arrival to the city to take part in the function. Vehemently denying that she had said "Mangaluru is hell", Ramya said her statement given in the TV interview was "edited" and taken out of context.

Insisting that her statement be seen and read in the context of the question posed to her, Ramya said it is the media that is making an issue out the "edited" statement. "I have come to Mangaluru on several occasions. I have visited Mookambika Temple. Today, I have come to visit Sri Kshetra Kadri and be part of the Sri Krishna Janmashtami celebrations," the actor maintained, adding, "It is a calling."

Whenever Congress go soft on these Hindutva ideology goons they create unrest in the society!! Need of the hour is political will power to control the hate mongers! But that we cannot expect from Congress even after 70 years of independence RSS enjoyed full freedom though Congress was in power!

Stupid people.. Mind washed idiots...

Apna party kare tho SHAAN aur dusre party ke comments se bhi apaman..

What modi did - without invitation he visited to pak and had nice food.
(What modi's speeches were before election on pak and now what he is - Think karo - ye jumla party hai)
What Sushma said - hamare purwaj lahore me hai.. samman ho raha hai.
What Bhagwath said - Hame pak se dosthi ka haath badana chahiye..hahhahahhah

Why these jobless people make gherao to their own people first. Live like a gentleman and work for justice not like a cowardice.

Ballari, Jan 13: Police on Monday arrested more than 30 Congress activists, including Congress MLA B Z Zameer Ahmad, who were on the way to Ballari to stage a dharna in front of MLA G Somashekhar Reddy's residence after he delivered hate speech during a pro-CAA demonstration a week ago.

Ballari Superintendent of Police SP C K Baba said that Congress MLA B Z Zameer Ahmed has not been granted permission to stage a dharna in front of the Bellary MLA’s residence.

Zameer Ahmed had asked the police to arrest Mr Reddy after he delivered a provocative speech or he will stage a dharna in front of the later's house.

SP said, “Investigations into the complaints pertaining to the provocative speech by Bellary City MLA G Somashekar Reddy is underway. In-charge Dy SP Maheshwara Gouda has taken statements of the complainants and others related to the case. A charge sheet on the same will be submitted to the court soon."

Reddy has been booked for making a provocative speech during a pro-CAA protest here in Ballari last week in which he said that Hindus outnumbered Muslims.

Following the incident police provided high police security to the MLA house and sensitive area in the city.

Bengaluru, Jun 11: A love triangle took a violent turn when a final-year engineering student was assaulted by both her current and former lovers. She's now battling for her life in the ICU, police said.

For the 22-year-old woman, who lives in Sidedahalli, it was a case of fast-changing relationships. She broke up with a fellow student Babith, 21, a few months ago after having dated him for four years. Four months ago, she started seeing another collegemate named Rahul, 22, and everything seemed fine.

On June 7, she went to Rahul's house, ostensibly for his birthday party, after informing her parents. Babith got wind of it and barged into Rahul's house. The trio got into an argument, and Rahul abused and assaulted her.

The woman decided to leave him, and went with Babith to his house in Chikkabanavara, North Bengaluru. But things didn't end there. Babith picked an argument with her. Things became so bad that he attacked her with a helmet.

He then panicked and called her parents, asking them to take her home. When her parents arrived, they found only Babith, his mother and sister in the house. Babith's family directed them to a bedroom where she was lying motionless, with her face being badly wounded.

When her parents demanded to know what had happened, nobody responded. They took her to a hospital where her condition remains serious. A while later, Babith came to the hospital and gave her parents the key of her scooter. He told them what had happened and allegedly warned them against filing a police complaint.

Her mother, however, filed a complaint with the jurisdictional Soladevanahalli police. According to her, Babith had fought with her daughter at their house for not taking his phone calls six months ago.

Shashikumar N, Deputy Commissioner of Police (North), said both the men had been arrested and that further investigations are underway.
