Alkhobar, Dec 31: The National Anti-Corruption Commission (Nazaha) has assigned a representative to examine the reasons behind the increased traffic during rush hours and vacations at the King Fahd Causeway.
Nazaha attributed the primary reason for the traffic bottlenecks to a lack of human resources required to operate the passport booths.
The commission’s representative pointed out that each booth requires two employees working at the same time.
The report also indicated that there is a shortage of employees at the Passports Department, which is delaying travel procedures.
“We observed that there is a shortage in field traffic police cars that belong to the Traffic Department in the Eastern Province, which organize the entrance of trucks during specific hours on Khobar Highway that leads to King Fahd Causeway,” the report highlighted.
“There is also a shortage in traffic police cars on the bridge to organize the cars’ movements in their specified tracks to finish their travel procedures,” the report read.
The commission discussed with officials means of alleviating the suffering of Causeway commuters by providing better services to citizens and residents.
Nazaha surveyed a group of Causeway commuters, asking them about their level of satisfaction with the services and time spent completing procedures. The majority of commuters complained about the slow and delayed procedures, highlighting that they spent long hours waiting.
"The US looks at things from their perspective, not from the perspective of this region. The killing of Qassem Soleimani shows ignorance and arrogance. 430 Indian cities saw protests against killing of Soleimani," Zarif said at an event.
