‘PK’ poster: PIL against Aamir for posing nude

Kanpur, Aug 1: With the buzz created in Bollywood over Aamir Khan’s just released movie poster of ‘PK’ in which the actor poses nude with only a stereo to hide his modesty, a city criminal lawyer has filed a PIL against him and producer and director of the movie for propagating obscenity.aamir pil

The PIL has been filed against Khan, producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra, director Rajkumar Hirani along with all promoters of the film alleging the movie poster to be lascivious and spreading prurient interest. Filed by Kanpur based criminal lawyer Manoj Mishra, the PIL will be heard on August 7 by Justice Gagan Bharti in the city court.

The PIL has been filed under IPC section 292. If proved guilty, the punishment under the section ranges from 5-10 years.

The 48-year-old actor revealed the poster late last night on his Twitter account on Thursday. In the first look, Aamir is seen walking nude on a railway track with a huge radio protecting his modesty. "What do you think guys? Tell me fast... Butterflies in my stomach!," Aamir tweeted.

The 'Dhoom 3' star, who is known for experimenting his looks in the film, appeared nude for the first time in his more than three-decade-old career.

This is the the second time that the Bollywood's perfectionist is teaming up with Hirani after the stupendous success of '3 Idiots'.

'PK', a satire on godmen, also stars Anushka Sharma and Sushant Singh Rajput in prominent roles. It is expected to hit theatres on December 19.

Ernakulam, Feb 29: A court here on Friday issued a bailable arrest warrant against Malayalam actor Kunchacko Boban for failing to appear before it for witness examination in an assault case filed by an actress.

Ernakulam Additional Sessions Judge Honey M Varghese issued the arrest warrant.

As per the court's direction, Boban can take bail from police station and appear before court on March 4.

Mumbai, Jul 12: The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has sealed actor Rekha’s bungalow in suburban Bandra after a security guard there tested positive for coronavirus, a civic official said on Sunday.

The guard at the 65-year-old actor’s bungalow ‘Sea Springs’ tested positive on Tuesday, the official said.

The BMC has put a board outside the premises declaring the are as a containment zone. The security guard has been hospitalised at the BMC’s COVID-19 care facility in Bandra Kurla Complex, he said.

As the bungalow is a standalone one, only a portion of it has been sealed, he said.

Washington D.C., Jun 7: South Korean pop band BTS and their record label Big Hit Entertainment have donated USD one million to support Black Lives Matter.

According to Variety, the donation was transferred earlier this week, with Black Lives Matter confirming receipt to the label on Friday.

"Black people all over the world are in pain at this moment from the trauma of centuries of oppression. We are moved by the generosity of BTS and allies all over the world who stand in solidarity in the fight for Black lives," the outlet quoted Kailee Scales, managing director for Black Lives Matter as saying.

The widely lauded band, earlier on Wednesday, took to Twitter to show their solidarity with the people fighting against the social injustice.

"We stand against racial discrimination. We condemn violence. You, I and we all have the right to be respected. We will stand together," the tweet read.

The pledge of the donation from the Korean boy band and its label comes during a time when people and celebrities from the industry have come forward to demonstrate their support for the black community.

Several big names from the music and acting industry also observed 'Blackout Tuesday' earlier the week as a message of solidarity in response o the death of George Floyd, an African-American man in the United States.
