Bengaluru, Aug 16: Karnataka chief minister Siddramaiah on Wednesday recalled the achievements of Indira Gandhi and took a dig at the incumbent central government.
At the inaugural event of Indira canteen project in Jayanagar of South Bengaluru, the CM said that all prime minister Narendra Modi has done in the last few years is just radio programme 'Mann Ki Baat'.
"But ours is Vangi Bath," he said explaining that his government is focussing on real issues like hunger through Indira Canteen project which dole out food at concessional rates to the public.
As many as 101 canteens are being dedicated to public on Wednesday and by October 2, 2017, all 198 wards in Bengaluru will have one such canteen.
Siddramaiah also said that Indira Gandhi during her rule as the prime minister of India nationalised many banks to bring them close to the poor.
"In the name of demonetisation, Modi has closed doors of banks for the poor," he added.
