Ayodhya, Nov 25: The Ram temple in Ayodhya will be constructed at any cost, whether the government retains power or not, Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray announced here on Sunday, while attacking Prime Minister Narendra Modi for using the issue as a 'Jumla,' during the elections.

"Agar mamla adalat ke paas hi jana hai to chunav ke prachar ke darmiyan usey istemaal na karein aur bata do ki bhaiyo aur behenon hamein maaf karo ye bhi hamara ek chunaavi jumla tha. Hinduon aur unki bhavnaon ke saath khilvaad na karein yahi kehne main yahan aaya hoon (If you want the court to decide the matter, then why made it an issue during the elections. Now, you should say to the people to forgive you and admit that it was your election "Jumla". I have come here to remind the people that no one can play with the sentiments of the Hindus)," the Shiv sena chief said.

Launching a scathing attack on BJP, he said "When you were campaigning during the elections, you had said, you will search for all possible Constitutional options. But you did nothing during the four-and-a-half year of rule. Now tell people, it was a chunavi jumla.

"How many options did you explore for construction of Ram temple? Did you go to court for demonetisation? But now, you are waiting for the court verdict on Ram temple. This government is very powerful, but it failed to fulfill the aspiration of the majority community.

"If this government doesn't build temple, then it may not stay, but still the Mandir will be built," he warned.

"People say Ram-Ram during elections and sleep off after polls. The world's Hindus are waiting, when will Ram Mandir be built? Bring an ordinance, we will support you, but build Ram temple," he said, adding that do whatever required, but build Ram temple quickly and don't play with the feelings of Hindus.

"Today, we went to the Ram Janmbhoomi for darshan, Yogiji said mandir tha, hai aur rahega, but when will we see the temple? Atalji had said, Hindu maar nahi khaayega, lekin ab Hindu poochega ki Mandir kab banaoge, chup nahi baithega (Atalji had said the Hindus will not get beaten once again, but now Hindus will certainly ask when the temple will be constructed)," the Shiv Sena chief said, assuring that his party will stand for Hindus and Hindutva.

Make a law, bring ordinance, but the temple should be built soon, he demanded.

He also said during his prayer before Lord Ram at the Ram Janambhoomi, it seemed that the God was staying in jail.

"It is very unfortunate that God is staying in jail and we are enjoying outside," he said.
Uddhav, along with his wife Rashmi and son Aditya, prayed at the Ram Lalla makeshift temple at the Ram Janambhoomi and thanked all the natives of Ayodhya and the saints for their blessings. Shiv Sena Rajya Sabha member Sanjay Raut also accompanied the Thackeray family to the Ram Lalla temple.

The Shiv Sena chief carried a pot full of soil from the Shivneri Fort in Pune, which he handed over to the priest at the Ram Janmabhoomi.

Later, talking to reporters, before winding up his two-day maiden visit to Ayodhya, Mr Thackeray claimed that his mission to Ayodhya was successful, due to the cooperation of the saints and the people of this temple city.

"I want to thank this government, police and the residents of Ayodhya. The seers who blessed me yesterday, I told them our work isn't possible without their blessings," he said.

"Saints blessed me yesterday and I have informed them that the work (Ram temple) which we're about to begin, can't be done without their blessings. I've no hidden agenda in coming to Ayodhya. I've come to express sentiments of all Indians and Hindus across world. All are waiting for the Ram Temple."

Later, the Shiv Sena chief and his family members left for Mumbai by a special aircraft from the Ayodhya airstrip.

On his first day of visit to Ayodhya on Saturday, Mr Thackeray addressed a gathering at Lakshman Kila, where he honoured the saints. On the occasion, he performed Vedic rituals to honour the saints and seek their blessings.

Later, the Thackerays attended the Saryu Aarti, along with thousands of Shiv Sainiks.
On Saturday, a silver brick was handed over for Ram Mandir by the UP unit of Shiv Sena.
Shiv Sainiks, who had reached Ayodhya along with their leaders, raised slogans of 'Pahele mandir, phir sarkar' and Jai Sri Ram slogans.

They also visited local temples in large numbers, raising Jai Sri Ram slogans, though most of them left for Maharashtra last night.

Mar 4: Twenty-one Italian tourists and three Indian tour operators have been sent to an ITBP quarantine facility in Delhi on Tuesday for suspected coronavirus exposure, official sources said.

Health Ministry sources said these foreigners, 13 women and eight men, were in the same group of which an Italian and his wife have tested positive in Rajasthan capital Jaipur.

“His (Italian in Jaipur) condition is stable,” a source said.

Three Indians, who were accompanying this Italian group as tour operators, have also been sent to the ITBP facility in Chhawla area of south-west Delhi, they said.

All these people, staying at a five-star hotel in south Delhi, have been put in “preventive isolation” at the ITBP camp and their samples will be taken on Wednesday, sources said.

The centre already has 112 people, 76 Indians and 36 foreigners, since February 27 after they were evacuated by an IAF plane from Wuhan in China, the epicentre of the coronavirus.

The first samples of these 112 people had tested negative when reports came in last week.

New Delhi, Feb 4: Saying the matter had been adjourned many times and it will have to hear it someday, the Supreme Court on Tuesday fixed April 14 for hearing a plea by Zakia Jafri, wife of slain MP Ehsan Jafri, challenging the SIT's clean chit to then Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi in the 2002 riots.

A bench comprising Justices A M Khanwilkar and Dinesh Maheshwari posted the matter for hearing in April after Zakia's counsel sought an adjournment and urged the court to post it after the Holi vacation.

When advocate Aparna Bhat, appearing for Zakia, told the court that the issue in the matter is contentious, the bench said, "It has been adjourned so many times, whatever it is, we will have to hear it someday. Take one date and make sure you all are available." Zakia had filed a petition in the apex court in 2018 challenging the Gujarat High Court's October 5, 2017 order rejecting her plea against the decision of the Special Investigation Team.

Ehsan Jafri was among the 68 people killed at Gulberg Society on February 28, 2002, a day after the S-6 Coach of the Sabarmati Express was burnt at Godhra killing 59 people and triggering riots in Gujarat.

On February 8, 2012, the SIT filed a closure report giving a clean chit to Modi and 63 others, including senior government officials, saying there was "no prosecutable evidence" against them.
