Mangaluru, Jan 24: The police have arrested six more persons in connection with the murder case of Deepak Rao, a youth who was hacked death by trouble mongers on January 3 at Katipalla on the outskirts of the city.
The newly arrested six persons are Mohammed Rafiq, Irfan, Mohammed Anus, Mohammed Jahid, Hitayuthulla and Imran Nawaz.
According to Mangaluru Police Commissioner T R Suresh, the above six members had conspired and abetted the murder of Deepak Rao.
With this the total number of arrests in the case has gone up to 12. After subjecting the six persons who were arrested earlier in connection with the case to rigorous interrogation, the police found out the conspirators.
Asked whether the accused belong to any organisation, the top cop said that the police are still investigating the matter. It is not yet certain which of accused belongs to which organisation, he said.
