Police seize 17 cattle including dead calf after intercepting vehicle; 1 arrested

Mangaluru, Jun 25: Police in Mangaluru on Saturday morning foiled an illegal cattle transportation bid and seized 17 animals.

Acting on a tip of, a team of police from Kadri police station waylaid a Tempo Traveller which was transporting cattle at around 4 a.m. under their jurisdiction.

Circle inspector MG Nayak, who led the operation, said that as many as 17 cattle were stuffed into the vehicle in an inhuman way. Among them a calf was found dead.

The police managed to arrest one person who was allegedly transporting the vehicle. They also seized the vehicle along with the cattle.

A case has been registered at Kadri police station and investigations are on.

Dont request to reveal the name of the driver and his associates and their background, Kalladka, Pumpwell, Surathkal, Kuttar etc.. are working hard to not to publish their names.

How can they reveal the name of the driver or passenger?
because this was not done by Muslims.

this s not the right way driver must be punished in that same way which calf suffered and suffocated to death.

Police must investigate the driver's back ground and its owner detail he must be owning more vehicles for this transport, i request police department to seize them all.

please reveal the driver name., and police must take strict action against the driver.

‘Philanthropists’ refuse to give Ramadan kits as villagers say no to photo!

Mangaluru, May 19: In a bizarre incident which exposes the publicity craze of “philanthropists”, members of a city-based organisation returned without disturbing grocery kits after villagers refused to be photographed while receiving them.

The incident took place at Mukrampady village in Puttur a few days ago. According to sources, a team belonging to an organisation from Mangaluru had visited the village with a letter from their organisation, to distribute grocery kits to families near mosques in the month of Ramadan.

The team members reportedly insisted the beneficiaries to pose for pictures with the team near a mosque while being given the food kit. The villagers refused to fulfil their wish.

The organisation members then left the place without handing over the Ramadan kits, sources said.

COVID-19: Karnataka declares 5 districts including DK as 'Red zones'

Bengaluru, Apr 1: The state government has identified five districts, including Dakshina Kannada, as 'cluster zones' or 'Red zones,' to prevent the spread of Novel Coronavirus.

The other four districts include Mysuru, Uttara Kannada, Bengaluru and Chikkaballapur.

Mangaluru has been under strict lockdown, as it is close to Kasargod in Kerala, which reported many positive cases and is also one of the 'hotspots' in the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) list.
