Bengaluru, May 23: Even as BJP headed for massive victory in Lok Sabha polls in Karnataka, pressure has risen on chief minister H D Kumaraswamy, who is heading the Congress-JDS coalition government, to quit. An emergency meeting has been called by him today regarding this.
Recently, Kumaraswamy had claimed that Congress veteran Mallikarjun Kharge should have been chief minister long ago. Following this, pressure from multiple sides has been coming his way to resign from his post after the election results.
Union Minister DV Sadanadanda Gowda also predicted that Kumaraswamy would step down by Thursday night or Friday morning.
Earlier, State BJP president B S Yeddyurappa, on May 16, also demanded that Kumaraswamy should quit his post and allow Kharge to occupy it.
