Private firm manager held for anti-Kannada remarks

Bengaluru, Jun 27: The Sanjaynagar police have arrested an HR manager of a private company for his anti-Kannada and anti-Kannadiga remarks.antiKannada

The arrested is Satwik Sachchar, a resident of Sanjaynagar. Sachchar had ordered dinner through a mobile app to be delivered at his house. There was a little delay in the delivery. Sachchar lost his cool and yelled at Anil, the delivery boy, when the latter reached his house. Anil attempted to reason out for being late, in Kannada. Sachchar abused Anil in Hindi and English.

“Anil claimed that he did not understand Hindi and English. An irked Sachchar again abused Anil and made objectionable remarks against Kannada language and Kannadigas,” said a police officer.

The police arrested Sachchar based on Anil’s complaint. Sachchar has obtained bail.

Hubli, Feb 24: Pro-Pakistan slogans were found written on the walls and doors of Higher Primary School in Budarsingi village here on Monday, said Raman Gouda Hatti, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), DCRB, Dharwad.

"The headmaster of the school noticed the slogans written on the walls and doors by chalk and he informed us. We will investigate the matter based on the complaint," said DSP Hatti.

The slogans were written in the Kannada language. Those behind the incident have not been identified so far.

The villagers staged a protest demanding action against those behind the act.

Congress leader HK Patil condemned the incident and asked for culprits to be identified and punished soon.

"Anti-social elements are involved in these acts. The government has failed to identify these people and punish them. The culprits behind this act need to be identified and punished. This incident is unfortunate and the intelligence department should work to stop these kinds of incidents," said Patil.

Bengaluru, Aug 8: Congress is confused on the Ram Mandir issue and in dilemma to take a firm stand fearing loss of Muslim or Hindu votes, according to BJP leader and Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi.

"Congress opposed BJP's stand on constructing Ram Mandir in Ayodya, it called Lord Ram fictional and even decided to break the Ramsetu. Now, Congressmen are speaking the other way. Congress cannot think beyond vote bank politics which is in its DNA itself. Congressmen think that they are born to be in power," he said while speaking to media persons. 

He said that BJP is all for constructing a grand Ram Mandir peacefully and legally, due to its conviction and not for politics. Same was the case with the revocation of Article 370 for Jammu & Kashmir. Anti-national activities have comparatively come down now. 

Some people do not want everything going smoothly in the country, and Congress and Asaduddin Owaisi are among them, Joshi opined, adding that the Congress is merely frustrated.

Udupi, Jan 4: A 37-year-old Udupi district JD(S) spokesperson allegedly committed suicide at his residence here last night, police said on Saturday.

It identified the deceased as Pradeep G Bailoor (37).

He was working as the District JD(S) spokesperson for many years.
