Priyanka Chopra's new magazine cover triggers online row

Mumbai, Oct 10: Actress Priyanka Chopra's latest magazine cover, in which she sports a t-shirt with the words refugee, immigrant, outsider and traveller, has not gone down well with some, who took to social media to slam it as "insensitive".

PriyankaThe 34-year-old "Quantico" actress's plain white t-shirt features refugee, immigrant, outsider, traveller arranged one below another but the first three words are struck off with a red line, suggesting that Priyanka is a traveller.

Priyanka shared the cover of Conde Nast Traveller on Twitter, writing, "My new cover. Thank you @CNTIndia."

But some Twitter users slammed the cover. One wrote, "Oh, I'm sorry, I wasn't aware that being a refugee is a matter of choice...What were you thinking?!"

Another said, "@CNTIndia @priyankachopra offensive t-shirt. With 65 million ppl displaced, highest no. since WWII, to pretend as if it's a choice. #nonPC."

"@cntindia being a refugee is NOT a choice, it's a matter of survival. i was already disappointed for her comments abt feminism, now this," a Twitter user posted.

However, there were others who thought the cover was not offensive or insensitive.

"Priyanka's shirt means in an ideal world there would be no refugees, immigrants or outsiders. We'd all be travellers, global citizens," one said.

Another added, "@priyankachopra @CNTIndia such an inspiring Msg on TShirt, I don't understand why people are offended with it? Call them all travelers."

New Delhi, Mar 27: By posting a stunning picture of herself, actor Kareena Kapoor Khan on Friday motivated people to stay strong during the tough times that the country is facing amid the coronavirus crisis.
The actor took to Instagram and posted a high-on-style picture of herself clicked from behind.
In the picture, the 'Jab We Met' actor is seen standing in front of make-up mirrors that had lights adding on to the shine of the picture.
"Nothing can dim the light that shines from within... Stay strong. We can and we will," she captioned the picture in which she is seen wearing a blue bodycon dress having puffy sleeves.
The glamourous picture received scores of comments from the celebrated actor's fans.
With the entertainment industry under shutdown, many celebrities are self-isolating them to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
The number of people who have tested positive for the coronavirus rose to 724 on Friday, according to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

New Delhi, Aug 5: Playback singer S P Balasubrahmanyam on Wednesday confirmed testing positive for COVID-19 with 'mild' symptoms.

The 74-year-old musician shared the information through a video message posted on his official Facebook page.

In the video, the singer detailed about having a little "discomfort" for two days, stating he had chest congestion along with cold and on-off fever, which led him to get tested for the virus.

However, he also mentioned that he could have stayed at home in self-quarantine, as advised, but did not want to put his family in danger, and hence got admitted by his own choice, to recover quickly.

"I am in good hand, I am in good health. Nobody has to worry about this. The fever has subsided, and in two days I'll be discharged and I'll be home. Thanks for the concern," he said in the video message.

New Delhi, Jun 22: Musician Madonna, who is a mother of six, wished herself on the occasion of Father's Day on Sunday by posting adorable pictures with her kids.

Along with pictures, the 'Crazy For You' singer penned down a beautiful caption, wishing herself and every parent a 'Happy Father's Day' for nurturing and guiding their children in the best way possible.

"Happy Fathers Day to Me and to every parent out there doing their best to Nurture, Guide, Inspire, and Teach! #Lola #Rocco #David #Mercyjames #Estere #Stella," the 61-year-old singer wrote in the caption.

Madonna is the biological mother to two of her six children and has adopted the rest four.

She had adopted her first child Davida Banda back in 2006 and then she adopted a boy in 2009. The last addition to her family were the twins she adopted from Malawi.
