Priyanka dreams to see Hindi cinema appeal to global audience

New Delhi, Oct 2: Becoming a name to reckon with in the international world of glamour is not enough for Priyanka Chopra as the actor also dreams to see Hindi cinema appeal to the global audience.

Priyanka felt emotional when her upcoming venture 'The Sky in Pink' received a standing ovation at the Toronto International Film Festival as the audience included people from around the world.

"What made me emotional was the audience in the theatre was not just Indian, they were North Americans, Canadians and many more which were not just Hindi speaking people," explained the 'Mary Kom' actor.

They reacted to the sub-titles that were there in our film and they stood up and applauded after reading the subtitles, she said.

"The fact that the movie transcended language and borders, that made me emotional because it's my dream to see Hindi cinema appeal to a global audience," Priyanka told to ANI.

The 'Barfi' star whose last Bollywood outing - 'Jai Gangajal' in 2016 - failed to make a mark at the box office is making a comeback to Hindi cinema and this time she is also donning the producer's hat for the first time.

"It's my first Hindi production. So that was something I was really proud of... Farhan Akhtar produced me many years ago when I just started doing movies and now I am producing him," she said of the new role.

Clad in a navy blue dress with beautiful gold floral work, PeeCee also shed light on her upcoming projects and said she is starting to "shop for more scripts".

"As far as Hindi language is concerned I haven't thought anything for now, and since 'The Sky is Pink' is done I am starting to shop for more scripts that I want to do. I have been going through some scripts but I need to figure out my time. I am also doing a bunch of other things so within that I have to see when and what I can do," she concluded.

California, May 30: Priyanka Chopra Jonas on Saturday shared a gorgeous sunkissed selfie sporting cherry lips and beaded dangler earrings.

The multi-talented star who owns a production house put out a morning selfie on Instagram wherein she is seen sporting a white collared top, flaunting her cherry red lips and dangler earrings as she embraces her peach glow in the sheer sunlight, while her shiny curls bounce the sunshine.

Along with the picture, the 'The Sky Is Pink' actor wrote, "A cherry lip and sunshine...maybe even a earring...I'm feeling adventurous."

On sharing the gorgeous selfie, the Chopra received heaps of praises from fans and celebrity followers, and the post reached more than 1.9 lakh likes including one for Sussanne Khan.

Model Masaba Gupta also chimed in the comment section and adored the beauty of the 'Baywatch' star writing, "Stunning" with a heart emoticon.

Currently, the actor is quarantined in her California house along with singer and husband Nick Jonas and has been quite active on social media.

Earlier, Priyanka recalled her parents' service in the Indian Army as America observed Memorial Day, and the 37-year-old actor dug out an old picture of her parents in uniform and posted it on Instagram.

Jerusalem, Jun 17: Calling Sushant Singh Rajput as "a true friend", Israel has expressed its deepest condolences at the passing away of the young Bollywood star.

Rajput, 34, was found dead in his Bandra apartment on Sunday.

On Tuesday, Gilad Cohen, deputy director-general of Israel's foreign ministry, took to Twitter to mourn the actor's sudden demise.

"Sending my deepest condolences on the passing of Sushant Singh Rajput, a true friend of Israel. You will be missed!" Cohen wrote while sharing the link of the song "Makhna" from the actor's last film "Drive".

Sushant and his co-star Jacqueline Fernandez had shot the song in Israel as part of its ongoing efforts to bring Bollywood to the country.

Los Angeles, May 2: Pop diva Madonna has revealed that she has tested positive for the COVID-19 anitbodies.

The singer shared the news in the 14th edition of her “Quarantine Diary” on Instagram TV.

“Took a test the other day and I found out that I have the antibodies. So tomorrow I’m just going to go for a long drive in the car, and I’m gonna roll down the window and I’m gonna breathe in the COVID-19 air. Yup. I hope the sun is shining,” Madonna said.

According to Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), US, antibody tests are used to determine whether or not a person has been exposed to COVID-19 by finding proteins the body produces to fight the virus.

However, the CDC has yet to confirm if the possession of antibodies is equal to immunity.
