Produce 10 kids before provoking Hindus: Kejriwal tells Mohan Bhagwat

New Delhi, Aug 22: Arvind Kejriwal today attacked Mohan Bhagwat for his suggestion that Hindu couples should have more children, asking the RSS chief to produce "10 kids" himself first and make sure they are "brought up well".

"Before provoking Hindus, Mohan Bhagwat should produce 10 babies himself and bring them up well," the Aam Aadmi Party leader and Delhi Chief Minister tweeted today.

The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), which Bhagwat currently heads, encourages its members to be celibates.

Responding to a question at an event in Agra last weekend, Bhagwat had said, "Which law says that the population of Hindus should not rise? There is nothing like that. What is stopping them when population of others is rising? The issue is not related to the system. It is because the social environment is like this."

Bhagwat was speaking at a RSS-held programme where teachers from 11 west Uttar Pradesh districts participated. He made the statement after a participant there asked him to speak on the alleged decline in Hindu population.

The audience at the RSS event included university teachers, academics, and a large number teachers from schools in Agra and neighbouring districts.

Earlier today, BJP ally Shiv Sena also termed Bhagwat's comments on declining Hindu population as "outdated" and asked the Centre to implement uniform civil code to maintain "social and cultural balance".

"Mohan Bhagwat has tried to present outdated thoughts in a modern way. His remarks will not be accepted by progressive Hindu community. Also, PM Modi would not agree that increasing Hindu population is the right way to counter growing Muslim population," an editorial in Sena mouthpiece 'Saamana' said.

"The government is spending a lot of money on family planning. A rise in Muslim population will undoubtedly affect the social and cultural balance of the country, but asking Hindus to have more children is no solution to the problem. The only solution is to implement the uniform civil code to cap the population of all communities. If Hindus give birth to more children, problems like hunger, unemployment and inflation will only increase," the Sena said.

Sena also sought to know if Bhagwat was discreetly trying to back the idea of Hindus having more than one spouse to boost the population of the community.

The Congress has also attacked Bhagwat, saying "what else could be expected from him."

"Woh Dharm ki hi khaate hain. Woh aur kya baat karenge," (He banks on religion only, what else he can say)," Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad said on Sunday.

"In every statement Bhagwat talks of dividing (society). He should have talked about employment, price rise but he didn't do so," Azad added.

If you don't want to follow any religion, it is upto you.
But at least follow what you easily understand and agree.

Islam says the food comes for you and your children from your creator the ONE & ONLY GOD. This is the faith of Muslims.

Muslims have multiple children and their standard of life or economy is not at all diminishing.

See China, the worlds highest populated country, and it is the fastest growing economy.

Where does your theory work. Read and follow Quran, though you remain in your own religion. Once 100% satisfied then take wise decision what to follow.

Bengaluru, Mar 30: Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa on Monday appealed to people to strictly follow the restrictions in the state, saying that the ending of 21-day nationwide lockdown imposed to contain COVID-19 depends on how the public adheres to the rules.

In a press statement, Yediyurappa appealed to the people to help the government to prevent the spread of coronavirus by strictly following the lockdown.

"People of Karnataka are known for tolerance and patience. They are law-abiding citizens. Now, the lockdown in wake of coronavirus is a testing time for them. It has come to test the patience of our people, especially the people of Karnataka. Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself has apologized and said that lockdown was an inevitable step taken by the government to protect people from the pandemic. We have to realise the predicament of a prime minister who always cares for the well being of the country and its people," the statement quoted Yediyurappa as saying.

"At this hour of crisis, it is not good on our part to come out of houses and violate the curfew. The ending of lockdown depends on strictness with which one follows the curfew and maintain social distancing. If one follows the curfew strictly, the lockdown period will automatically end on April 14. Whether to end the lockdown or not is in your hands," he said.

The Chief Minister urged not to test the patience of police, saying, "Already our police are under stress as they are working without any rest. Do not force them to use the force and later blame them for stern action."

He also appealed to follow the lockdown provisions and stay back in their home.
"The government has taken all measures to maintain the supply of essentials and food to the needy. Consider this situation as a blessing in disguise and spend your valuable time reading books which in turn will boost your knowledge and intellectual capacity. My earnest request to even the poor is spending your time by involving yourselves in creative activities inside your houses," Yediyurappa said.

"At the same time, it is time for us to respect the sacrificing work of the doctors, nurses, health staff and civic workers who are working round the clock to save the lives of hundreds of people affected by coronavirus. My appeal to you all strictly follows the curfew rules and maintains the social distance to combat COVID-19," he added.

Bengaluru, Jan 21: Braving the biting cold, chief minister BS Yediyurappa took time out of his busy schedule to go around Davos on Monday.

Clad in a long coat over a suit, scarf and leather gloves, Yediyurappa, with secretary S Selvakumar in tow, took in the sights of well-laid bylanes, quaint houses and snow-covered pine trees. He also rode a cable car at Persenn.

A cook from Andhra Pradesh, who works at an Indian restaurant in Davos, served the CM shavige uppittu and khara pongal for breakfast. Yediyurappa had chapatis and rice for dinner.

Meanwhile, Karnataka is likely to have a ‘Centre for Internet of Ethical Things’, perhaps, the world’s first, which will seek to ensure ethical practices in trade and businesses, besides addressing issues like misuse of artificial intelligence, a concern that has been bothering business leaders across the globe.

At the World Economic Forum in Davos, Yediyurappa signed an informal agreement with Murat Sonmez, the forum’s managing director, on Monday. "Investors around the globe are worried about unethical practices in business and a centre is the need of the hour," Sonmez was quoted as saying in a press release. "If the Karnataka government is serious about securing investment, it should set up the centre immediately."

Yediyurappa immediately responded to the suggestion by prompting Sonmez to write down an informal agreement on a sheet of paper which both signed. "This centre will go a long way in Karnataka’s history of industrial development," Sonmez was quoted as saying in a release by the Karnataka delegation.

At the inauguration of Karnataka’s pavilion, Yediyurappa promised all support to investors. "We are happy to be here and look forward to engage you on various development agenda," he said adding that he was keen to partner on certain strategic research that can help Karnataka become a major player on the global stage. "With Karnataka emerging as a leading industrial state in India, we can make it a major player on the global stage," he said.

Industries minister Jagadish Shettar, chief secretary TM Vijaya Bhasker and industries secretary Ramana Reddy were also signatories to the informal agreement.
