Bengaluru, Apr 8: A senior professor from a prestigious institution in Bangaluru has landed in a controversy after he reprimanded one of his female students for entering classroom without dressing “properly”.

shortsProf V Nagaraj, who has nearly three decades of experience, had never expected that the girl students of the National Law School of India University would revolt against him for his comments and expose their legs in a bid to “demoralise” him.

According to reports, the professor scorned a third-year girl for wearing shorts to class on April 4. In protest against this so called “public shaming”, all girl students wore “micro mini shorts” to the professor's class the next day.

In a statement on social media on Wednesday, the students alleged that the professor shamed a female student for the clothes she wore to class. He allegedly cast aspersions on her character. The statement said the student, like many others, had worn shorts to class.

“On noticing the shorts, the said professor chastised the student before the entire class by asking her to 'dress properly'. The student was uncomfortable with the remark, as were many of us, since we do not think it is correct for a teacher to impose his/her notions about appropriate clothing upon students. The student in question, who was scolded by the said professor, thought it necessary to further discuss the matter with him and not to overlook it as another instance of moral policing. Upon approaching the teacher and raising objections regarding his statement, the student, to our dismay, was once again rebuked by the professor and was exposed to a plethora of untoward comments,” it said.

On Thursday evening, students of the batch of 2018 posted on Facebook that their action was to highlight that students had faced ridicule and harassment from the professor for the way they chose to dress.

However, Prof Nagaraj denied any wrongdoing and but said he expected decorum in students' dress sense. “Nothing like (what is described in the statement) happened. Students are making false and baseless allegations. It is for the university authorities to examine this incident. This is the first time that students have made such a statement (whereas) I have been teaching for 27 years.”

The professor also said that that there was no written dress code for students in NLSIU's rules currently but he has asked the university administration to issue clarifications about the dress code to the students, especially keeping in mind that “certain decorum” is expected from students attending lectures taken “especially by a senior faculty member”.

BIBLE SAYS: 1 Corinthians 11:5:6 - But every wife who prays or prophesies with her HEAD UNcovered DISHONORS her HEAD, Since it is the same as if her HEAD were Shaven. For if a wife will not cover her head, then she should CUT her hair short. But since it DISGRACEFUL for a wife to cut off her HAIR or SHAVE her HEAD, let her cover her HEAD.

VEDA SAYS : Rig veda book no 8 Hymn no 19 : When Brahma has made YOU a WOMAN, You should lower gaze and should not LOOK UP. You should put your feet together and you should not reveal what the garment and the veil conceals.

QURAN Chapter 33 V 9 : O prophet ! say to your Wives and your daughters and the women of the FAITHFUL to draw their outer garments close around themselves, that is BETTER that they will be recognized and not ANNOYED. and ALLAH is ever forgiving, Gentle.

People say they are christian, hindu & muslims... but they never follow what they say. Many people follow the MEDIA which mostly controlled by those who doesnt believe in God and Ignore what is taught in the RELIGIOUS books which is enlightened by the Prophets of GOD to MANKIND
Dont be a follower of MEDIA rather study the Scripture and be a faithful believer in GOD which will be successful.

"It is made mandatory that all hospitals registered under KPME in Karnataka State should display at the reception counter, a bed allocation display board," a notification issued by the state government read.

"It should display the name of the hospital, the total number of beds (as per of KPME registration) and the total number of beds allocated for COVID-19 patients referred by Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP)," it said.

Bengaluru, Apr 28: Former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Tuesday demanded that the Karnataka government announce a "special package" for unorganised sector workers, street vendors and autorickshaw drivers, among others, all daily wagers whose lives are affected by the COVID-19 lockdown. "..a special package needs to be announced to this section of people, this is the demand," Siddaramaiah, who is also Leader of the Opposition in the state assembly, told reporters here.

Alleging that the government has failed to control the spread of coronavirus, he said it is the government's responsibility to take care of the basic needs of those from the unorganised sector, whose lives have been impacted by the lockdown. "It is the duty of the government and they should do it immediately. The package should also be announced. I will hold discussions with leaders of other opposition parties like JD(S), CPI, CPI(M) and BSP in this regard and also on trouble faced by farmers," he added. Alleging discrimination in supply of food packets and ration kits, Siddaramaiah said it was being supplied properly only in constituencies represented by BJP legislators.

"Politics is being played out in supply of food materials to the needy, keeping corporation elections in mind.... We don't want to do politics at this point in time as there is lockdown. If things continue to be the same after the lockdown ends, we will protest on the streets," he said.

Siddaramaiah on Tuesday interacted with representatives of auto rickshaw and cab drivers, street vendors, barbers, unorganised workers organisations, among others, to understand the difficulties faced by them during the lockdown and to know whether help from the government has reached them. He said most of them don't have work and it has become difficult for them to lead their normal lives.

They raised several issues like auto and cab drivers being unable to pay road tax and EMI, he said, adding that he would write a detailed letter to the Chief Minister in this regard The former Chief Minister pointed out that there is about 21 lakh registered organised workers, 1.32 crore lakh unorganised workers and also agriculture labourers in the state.

"Among organised workers only 12.5 of the 21 lakh are said to be getting Rs 2000, that too from the Employees Welfare Fund, while others could not get any money, citing reasons like they have not renewed it," he said.

On the other hand, unorganised sector workers don't get money and were also not getting proper food or ration kits, he alleged Though the labour department claimed that it was supplying one lakh food packets and 1.5 lakh ration kits, as also corporations, there were leakages and it was not reaching the beneficiaries properly, he said.

Thrissur, Mar 7: A local temple in Kerala is at the centre of a social media storm after the picture of a ''Brahmins-only toilet'' outside its main campus went viral on online platforms, prompting the management to remove the signboard.

The picture of three toilets, with signboards showing "Men", "Women" and "Brahmins", at the Kuttumukku Mahadeva Temple in Thrissur, has gone viral with many social media users viewing it as an unethical practise that can portray the progressive state in a bad light.

However, temple officials said the toilets were located outside the main campus and the board was brought to their notice only now.

Kannan, an official of the temple committee, said the board was placed nearly two decades ago and nobody raised any complaint against it so far.

"That particular toilet was being used by priests and other temple employees. We didn't even notice that board... As soon as we came to know about it, we removed it and affixed a staff-only board," he told PTI.

Also a CPI-M functionary and ward councillor, Kannan said the shrine and it's management was against all kinds of unethical customs.

The temple official said they were planning to pursue legal measures against the man who posted the photo of the toilets on social media.

"We suspect that he did it deliberately to create issues during the time of the festival and to tarnish the shrine's reputation. Not only that, the photo he shared was an old one though he claimed that it was taken during the time of the festival, " he said.
