Prohibitory orders clamped in Mangaluru till July 30

Mangaluru, Jul 16: Following a report submitted by the deputy commissioner of police (law and order) K M Shantharaju, the Mangaluru police chief T R Suresh has clamped prohibitory orders under Section 35 of Karnataka Police Act under the limits of City Police Commissionerate.suresh1

The prohibitory orders imposed by the Dakshina Kannada district administration in Bantwal, Sullia, Puttur and Belthangady taluks have already completed 50 days. The ban orders will end in these four taluks on July 21.

With the imposition of Section 35 of KPA under the limits of commissionerate, entire district has come under the ban orders.

Mr Suresh stated in a release that the prohibitory orders have been promulgated based on a report submitted by the deputy commissioner of police (law and order) K M Shantharaju.

The DCP has sought the commissioner to promulgate prohibitory orders as a precautionary measure to prevent recurring of untoward incidents that were being reported at several places across Dakshina Kannada district recently.

Accordingly, people in the city will not be allowed to carry or transport weapons, sticks, knives, mace, pistols, rifles, latis or any other type of equipment that may be used for assault.

The Section prevents people from carrying explosive materials, parading effigies and shouting slogans, singing songs, delivering speeches that may trigger crime or pose threat to national security. Using posters and pictures or any other materials that may instigate crime also has been prohibited during the period.

Mysuru, Mar 24:m who returned from foreign travel and flouted home quarantine guidelines has been arrested in Mysuru on Monday. 

The man, who returned from Australia, had a seal on his hand but was roaming around the city. 

According to police, he was supposed to be under home quarantine till April 6. V V Puram Police took him into custody.

Mangaluru, Jan 11: U Haroon bin Aboobakar Mukri, a businessman from Uppinangady passed away at a private hospital in the city today. He was 74.

He was undergoing treatment for multiple ailments including age-related diseases. He breathed his last at 12:40 a.m. on Saturday.

Son of Late Aboobakar Mukri, who was an Islamic activist and leader of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind in Uppinangady, Haroon was known for his generosity, kind-heartedness and simplicity.

An alumnus of St Aloysius College, Mangaluru, he was also a passionate traveller and life enthusiast, who always loved to meet people and spread positive vibes.

He is survived by his wife, four sons, a daughter and a large number of relatives, friends and well-wishers.

The funeral prayers were held at Masjid al-Huda, Uppinangady on Saturday afternoon. He was buried on premises of the same mosque.

Bengaluru, Jul 2: Senior Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge said that the "RSS needs to be defeated to save the country" and Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah are "destroying the nation".

Kharge was speaking at a KPCC program where DK Shivakumar took charge as state Congress president.

He said that the Prime Minister and the Home Minister are not ready to take accountability for any issues including China, and are instead blaming Rajiv Gandhi Foundation of getting funds from China.

"Rajiv Gandhi foundation utilized funds for the development of the nation and for the betterment of the downtrodden people," Kharge said.

"Prime Minister Modi and Shah both are destroying the economy of the nation, and their policies and plans are the reason for increasing COVID-19 situation in India," he said.

"Prime Minister and Amit Shah never listen to Opposition parties, instead they plan something and their policies are the reason for MSME losses and job losses in the country," he added.
