Rahul Kumar takes charge as Bantwal's first ASP

Bantwal, Sep 21: Rahul Kumar S, accepted charge on Saturday as the new Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) of Bantwal in a small ceremony.

Rahul Kumar is the first ASP of Bantwal, after the upgradation of the station. Earlier, the town of Bantwal came under the limits of Puttur sub-region. Later, it came under the jurisdiction of DySP, and now, it has been upgraded to fall under the jurisdiction of ASP.

Former Bantwal DySP Rashmi Paraddi welcomed the new ASP before he accepted the charge.

Bantwal circle inspector Belliyappa, Bantwal town sub-inspector Nandakumar and other personnel were present on the occasion.

Rahul Kumar originally hails from Nanded in Maharashtra. Soon after finishing his training at Mysore, he was appointed as the ASP of Bantwal.

Mysuru, Jan 20: As the Karnataka state Congress is still awaiting the appointment of Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) President, MLA Satish Jarkiholi has said that in order to balance the caste and regional equations, All India Congress Committee (AICC) was planning to create four working presidents posts for KPCC.

Talking to media personnel here on Sunday, Mr Jarkiholi, who is considered to be in the race for the post, said that a clear picture about the constitution of additional posts of the working president in the KPCC would emerge in a week.

He added that it has been delayed due to the Assembly elections in Delhi.

Haveri, Jan 16: Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa on Wednesday hinted at inducting 16 MLAs into the Cabinet which was due for expansion despite the fact that it was a difficult task.

Participating in a function of Choudayya Community here, he further said one should understand the difficulty faced to undertake cabinet expansion in the prevailing situation and whoever gives suggestion should understand the circumstances otherwise the statements would lead to confusion among the community and people of the state.

He stated that 'as many as 17 MLAs resigned to make me Chief Minister and now their community people want their leader to become Minister, it is very difficult to satisfy all of them'.

Madikeri, Jun 5: Karnataka Minister for Revenue R Ashok said a Rs 10 crore grant would be released shortly for construction of a permanent building for 'Relief Centre' in Kodagu district which is vulnerable to floods because of its hilly landscape.

According to an official release here on Friday, the Minister symbolically handed over the newly built houses to flood victims in Jambur in Somwarpet on Thursday evening.

He said that whenever the 'Relief Centre' is vacant it will be used for government meetings.
