Madikeri, Feb 12: BJP Yuva Morcha’s Karnataka state president and Mysuru-Kodagu MP Pratap Simha on Monday claimed that AICC president Rahul Gandhi's visit to the state would actually benefit the BJP.
Speaking to reporters, he said that the Congress has suffered humiliating defeats in places which were visited by Rahul Gandhi. Therefore, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah should help the BJP by inviting Rahul to all assembly constituencies in Karnataka.
"Mahadayi issue became more complicated after Sonia Gandhi stated that not even a drop of water will be let out from Mahadayi river. Rahul Gandhi who is on state tour should issue a clarification on his mother's statement."
Intervention by the prime minister on the Mahadayi water issue may be possible only with the consent of all parties. Former PM Manmohan Singh had quoted the same reason, Pratap Simha said and dared Siddaramaiah to persuade Goa Congress President to arrive at a consensus on Mahadayi issue.
