Udupi, Apr 24: Addressing a huge rally of Bharatiya Janata Party at Karkala, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Monday claimed that the country would soon be in the list of top five fastest growing economies of the world.

The minister said that in the past four years, the country has been marching towards a developed country status under the magnificent rule of BJP. The Congress, that ruled the country for 70 years after independence, has ruined the country’s status and image. Even Karnataka is no different to it, claimed said.

“The Assembly elections should be purely based on the agenda of development,” he said and added that as many as 25 Hindu activists have been killed in the state. Karnataka was following the model of political murder of Kerala. There should not be any violence in politics,” he said.

He said that Congress and corruption are two faces of the same coin. Stating that no development works have been initiated by the Congress-led government in Karnataka, he said that the law and order situation has collapsed in the state. The Congress is only keen on raising non issues to divert the minds of the people, he said.

He said he would like to advise his Congress colleagues that politics should be for nation building and not merely for forming the government.

He said that, “Congress government should be held responsible for the 3,781 deaths of farmers. The Congress is playing with the death of farmers. Conflicts are being created for disturbing peace. The Congress party’s achievement is only failures from all angles and corruption is the epitome of Congress.”

He added that this election will be undoubtedly not in favour of the Congress.

“I am emotionally attached to Karnataka. The political scenario in the country has changed after BJP came to power at the Centre,” he said and sought to know as to where the Rs 2.90 lakh crore fund allotted by the Central government went?

Rajnath Singh also addressed a rally in Belthangady.

Bengaluru, May 2: JDS leader and former Karnataka Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy accused the Mandya district administration of the surge in COVID-19 cases in the district and not quarantining 7,000 labourers who arrived here from Mumbai.

"As we know that 16,000 labourers from Mandya were working in Mumbai, out of which 7,000 people have arrived in the district. However, none of them was quarantined properly which is a violation of COVID-19 lockdown," Kumaraswamy told reporters here on Friday.

He claimed the district administration has shown "gross negligence" in their duty in following the procedure of COVID-19 as "one COVID-19 patient's dead body which was brought here from Mumbai has led to more cases in the district and those who accompanied the body have also tested positive for the virus."

Kumaraswamy appealed to the state government to strictly maintain lockdown norms and do not allow any relaxations in view of the rise in COVID-19 cases, stating that "any kind of relaxation could lead to a huge disaster."

Kochi, Mar 2: The Vatican has rejected the second appeal by Sister Lucy Kalappura -- one of the nuns who protested against rape accused Bishop Franco Mulakkal -- against her expulsion from Franciscan Clarist Congregation (FCC).

In her plea, she had demanded that her version be heard and her expulsion from FCC revoked.

She was expelled from FCC for participating in public protests demanding the arrest of Franco Mulakkal in the nun rape case.

''I got a letter from Vatican which says my appeal has been rejected. But the rest of the letter is written in the Latin language. So after I understand it, I will respond," Sister Lucy told news agency.

''The authorities are contemptuous of those who make such complaints. That is why the letter is written in Latin. Sister Lucy would continue her legal fight in the courts,'' said George Moolechalil, who has been authorised by Sister Lucy to communicate with the media on her behalf.

A petition of Sister Lucy is still pending at Mananthavady Munsif Court at Wayanad that demands that she should not be expelled from the convent where she is staying.

Religious issues should be resolved within the guidelines of devine laws.

Unfortunately the Chrisitianity is no more in its originality.

The holy bible has been systematically abused and edited to the benefits of rulers.

The book has been contaminated with lots of editions.

People should search for truth and follow it.

Example, the religion never told to remain unmarried for priests or nuns.

They go against its teaching inveting their own idea against God's teaching.
