Ranveer very sensitive, emotional in real life: Deepika

December 13, 2015

New Delhi, Dec 13: Actress Deepika Padukone, who will be seen alongside her rumoured boyfriend Ranveer Singh in forthcoming film "Bajirao Mastani", says the latteer is very "sensitive" and "emotional" in real life unlike his onscreen image.

rd"A lot of people say to me that you are so lucky (to have Ranveer)Â… 24 hour entertainment and livewire. But actually he is not the same in real life. In front of so many people, he gets a different source of energy in him. But in actual life, he is very sensitive and emotional," Deepika said during a session at Agenda Aaj Tak here on Saturday.
Ranveer, meanwhile, replied: "I don't feel like showing my inner self in public because I'm very shy of all this."

The duo has re-teamed with their "Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela" director Sanjay Leela Bhansali for "Bajirao Mastani", which also stars Priyanka Chopra.

Asked whether they knew the story of Peshwa Bajirao before signing the film, Ranveer said: "I did my schooling in Mumbai at a private school where Marathi was a compulsory subject till fifth standard. But in our whole syllabus, including Marathi and history, there wasn't any mention of Peshwa Bajirao."

"The syllabus only focused until Chhatrapati Shivaji's exploits. First time I got to know about 'Bajirao Mastani' was through a filmy magazine... Then while we were doing 'Ram-Leela', he told me about this project which he was planning to make for the past 12 years," he added.

Deepika also echoed a similar view.

The "Chennai Express" actress said: "There was no mention of Bajirao in my syllabus too. Just because of this film I've got to know about him and Mastani. During my school days I used to hear that Bhansali wants to make a film like this with Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in the lead. In my dream I never thought that one day I'll become an actress and will get a chance to be a part of this film."

"I believe in destiny. During that time Bhansali sir was not able to make this film due to various reasons. He really wanted to make this film but may be the paring didn't work or he didn't have that much budget. Now if Ranveer and I are in this film, I think it was in our destiny," she added.

"Bajirao Mastani" hits theatres on December 18.

New Delhi, Jun 24: Actor Bhumi Pednekar supported migrant labourers traveling long distances amid the coronavirus pandemic, in a rather unique way- by donating footwear to them.

The gut-wrenching images of migrants walking barefoot on the roads made the 'Pati Patni Aur Woh' actor take the plunge to help them.

Pednekar joined hands with a footwear company and a volunteer-based non-government organisation - The Robin Hood Army - to help the underprivileged with footwear.

The actor helped over 1000 migrant labourers in and around Ghaziabad in Murad Nagar, Govindpuram, Vijay Nagar, and distributed footwear among men and women across age-groups.

Chennai, Jan 15: Superstar Rajinikanth on Tuesday called for neutrality in journalism and urged media outlets to report the truth.

Addressing an event organised by Tamil magazine ''Thuglak' in Chennai, the superstar-turned-politician said that the country needs a journalist like the late Cho S Ramaswamy, who helmed the publication for decades.

"The times, politics and society are going bad. In such a scenario, the media had a huge responsibility towards the people," he said.

Some television channels are biased towards political parties, Rajinikanth said. He added that media, critics and journalists must report the truth impartially.

Comparing true news to milk and fake reportage to water, Rajinikanth said people will not be able to distinguish between the two if they are mixed.

"Only journalists need to tell which portion is milk and which is water...write the truth and don't make a lie seem like truth," he said, amid applause.

Bengaluru, Jun 9: There’s no denying the fact that Sudeep is one of the most popular and sought-after names in Kannada cinema. The versatile actor has won the love of fans due to his ‘pan-India’ look and impressive selection of roles. A self-made star, he paid his dues before making it big in Sandalwood. The Bachchan actor had, some time ago, told Film Companion that his initial years in the industry were anything but easy.

The mass hero revealed that his first two movies never saw the light of the day as they were abandoned midway. Following the setback, he finally made his Kannada debut with V Umakanth’s Thayavva and began a new chapter in life. Sadly, the film sank without a trace and was removed from theatres within three days of its release.

“My first two films did not see the light of the day while the third one did not see people,” he added.

Sudeep ultimately tasted success with the 2001 release Huchcha and the rest is history. Over the years, ‘Deepanna’ has starred in several commercially successful movies and proved that he is a certified ‘A-lister’. The star has also made an impact in non-Kannada movies like Rann and Eega, expanding his fanbase big time.

Coming to the present, Sudeep was last seen in the Bollywood biggie Dabangg 3 that did decent business at the box office. The actioner saw him share screen space with Salman Khan, giving fans a reason to rejoice. The cast included Arbaaz Khan and Sonakshi Sinha.

He will be turning his attention to the Kannada biggie Kotigobba 3, the third instalment of the Kotigobba series. The film, directed by Shiva Karthik, is one of the biggest movies of the year. It features Shraddha Das, Madonna Sabastian and Aftab Shivdasani in key roles.  He  will also be seen in the Anup Bhandari-directed Phantom.
