Ravi Pujari threatens jeweller, demands Rs 25 crore

Shivamogga Nov 24: A jeweller from Thirthahalli town reportedly received a threat call from gangster Ravi Pujari demanding Rs 25 crore.

According to police, the jeweller received the threat calls from the gangster at least thrice. The caller threatened the jeweller that he would kill him if Rs 25 crore has not given to him.

He spoke to the jeweller in Hindi for a few minutes. Initially the jeweller ignored the call. Later, they submitted a complaint to the superintendent of police, following which, the police extended protection to the family.

Superintendent of Police Abhinav Ashok Khare said the investigation of the calls confirmed that the caller was Ravi Pujari. "A warning message has been sent to the gangster through his sister based in Delhi. The district crime branch staff are investigating to trace the location of the call. But it was an ISD call," he said.

Why our Government is silen in these matters. Why they not taking strict action against such criminals. Where ever they may be arrest and bring them back to India and send them behind bar till their last breath. Then no one dare to do such criminal activity any more.

Bengaluru, May 18: Senior Congress leader and former Union Minister Mallikarjuna Kharge on Monday slammed the State Government’s decision to appoint administrative committees to Panchayats, which completes their five-year term, shortly.

Speaking to media persons, the Congress leader described the State Government’s decision on appointing committees as a ‘death knell ‘ to the basic characters of the Panchayat bodies, which were elected on a non-party basis.

Strongly recommending the BJP-led government to desist from its decision, Kharge urged Chief minister B S Yediyurappa to extend the term of the elected bodies of the Panchayats by six months.

Tumkuru, Feb 26: A man was arrested from Azad Nagar area of Anantpur on Wednesday for making derogatory remarks against Prophet Mohammed and posting it on social media earlier this month, police said.

He was identified as Atul Kumar alias Madhugiri Modi, a resident of Madhugiri’s Hobali Honnapur village.

According to Superintendent of Police Vamshikrishna teams had been formed to arrest the accused following protests against his video and remarks against Prophet Mohammed in Tumkuru and Madhugiri,

Bengaluru, Mar 23: Deputy Chief Minister Laxman Savadi cautioned private bus transport services operators, taxis and autorickshaws from exploiting commuters in wake of bus and train services being suspended by the government as precautionary measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

In a statement released here on Monday, Transport Minister Savadi said it has come to the notice that private buses, taxis and autorickshaws were misusing the opportunity and exploiting commuters. Inter-district bus services have been suspended in the districts wherein lockdown has been announced to protect the health of people and none should violate the decision of the government, he stated.

Transport and Police Department officials have been asked to taken action against those violating norms and exploiting commuters. Service providers for their profit cannot risk with the health of the people and repeated cases if come to the fore, they will not be spared, Savadi cautioned.

Government has taken measures to prevent spread of COVID-19. Private transport service providers and people should join hands and cooperate to contain it, he appealed.
