Bengaluru, Apr 13: Renowned Space Scientist and former Indian Space Research Organisation Satellite Center (ISAC) Director S K Shivakumar, who was also Karnataka Science and Technology Council, Chairman passed away here on Saturday.
Padma Shree awardee Shivakumar was associated with the ISRO for over two decades and had contributed immensely to the mission planning and analysis of several Indian satellite missions, including Bhaskara, Apple, IRS and INSAT.
The deceased had also served as the project director for India's first indigenous Deep Space Network Antenna at Byalalu, associated with the India's first Moon Mission Chandrayan-I.
