Riyadh: DKMO hosts Grand Family Get Together-2019

Riyadh: The Dakshina Karnataka Muslim Okkoota (DKMO), Riyadh, conducted its annual Grand family Get Together -2019 on 3rd October at Taqat Vue Resort Sulay, Riyadh. It was well organized and well attended crowd was the main factor of success.

DKMO is a unique organization set up in Saudi Arabia, Riyadh with an intention to support the family of deceased member in case of sudden death of their breadwinners so far it has served 12 such FRF cases. At present DKMO is immediately providing 3 Lakh Rupees to family of deceased brother & In the future , after enrolling more number of members DKMO is looking forward to Support with  5 Lakh Rupees. Currently, DKMO has expanded with other objectives like Financial Loan, Air tickets for Stranded NRI’s, General Relief Fund, Micro Loan to support self-employment in India, Support for Anti Dowry Marriages & Campaigns, Employment Scheme & Emergency Response Team.

DKMO had undertaken a New Project in Dakshina Karnataka to create awareness within common people on Government Schemes which will be benefitted to all community in DK.

At present, DKMO is focusing on Health Schemes and appointed a representative in Mangalore to conduct awareness program & to assist the patients in all over Dakshina Karnataka.

The DKMO team spirit was very much appreciated and their efforts on supporting the NRI community was significantly touched the hearts of the Public. Awe – Inspiring reception welcomed all the crowd into this Mega event. Master Rashad Dawood Kajemar opened up event with qirath  followed by stage function & many other fun filled indoor and outdoor activities.

The stage program started with recitation of holy quaran by Hafiz Adil Hussain. DKMO Treasurer Br. Abdul Rahiman Yermal welcomed all the Guests to the dais. Master of ceremony Br.Basheer Talapady, a vibrant spokesman had compered the event with brief introduction of the program to the audience. DKMO President Br.Abdul Azeez Bajpe presided over the function. Br.Abdul Mohin  Executive Director of Durat Lamar Medical Center & DKMO Event directors Br.GK Shekabba and Br.Fazlurrahman were shared the Stage with Chief guests.The Chief Guest of the Event Br.Shihab Kottukkadu, A well known humanitarian & recipient of highest Civilian NRI award "Pravasi Bharatiya Samman" in his motivational speech encouraged DKMO team to go beyond the limit in this charitable field. He explained to audience about the importance of families, relatives & social lives. He assured us to provide embassy support for any requirements in the future.

Another prominent Chief guest Dr.Tahir Bangalore, King Saud University had inspired by DKMO activities & encouraged crowd to support DKMO in all aspects.

Br.Abdul Azeez Bajpe in his presidential speech briefed audience about the DKMO Activities & thanked all the audience, sponsors & Well wishers for their support & encouragement.

Br.Fazlurrahman Kolkar presented DKMO activities through PPT Presentation and detailly explained the DKMO activities to all attendees.

A well-deserved youth icon, Social worker  Br.Ibrahim Bajpe (Ibba) was felicitated with “DKMO Community Service Award” for his dedication, Commitment and hard work for the betterment of the community.

Meanwhile the crowd was kept under sweet pressure with an enthralling raffle draw and spot quizzes. Quiz Master Br.Nazeer Hassan interestingly puzzled the children and adults with an Islamic and general questions and the Winners were encouraged with dazzling gift hampers. At the end of the stage program Br.Nazeer Hassan conveyed the vote of thanks to all guests and audiences.

As a whole, all the guests had enjoyed the sumptuous dinner with hot beverages, sweets, Welcome drinks, Snacks and Fruits. As a special additive, many different food stalls were challenging their taste. Br.Shareef Thokur and his team supervised and well managed the food arrangements.

On the other side, Ladies Volunteers had conducted numerous activities like quiz program, spot games and outdoor sports and they distributed the fascinating prizes to all the winners.

Br.Haneef NS, Br.Irfan, Br. Moidin Jokatte, Br.Nayaz, Br.Yousuf  and their team had energetically conducted the various outdoor games like tug of war, running race, and Gunny Bag Race for children and Cricket, Tug of war and Push Ups for adults.

Khatarnak Mallar and MCA Riyadh emerged to be the Winner and Runner of 30 Yard's Cricket & Deera Guys & Bangalore Guys emerged to be the Winner and runner of Tug of War. Faisal Hussain from Kolkatta was winner of Push Ups competition.

Dubai, May 20: Dubai-based Karnataka Sports and Cultural Club’s humanitarian services in charge Naseer Karaje team have appreciated the efforts of Dakshina Kannada Deputy Commissioner, Mangaluru Airport director, NGOs of Mangaluru, and MLA for extending a royal welcome to second batch of repatriates from Dubai that landed at Mangaluru Airport on May 18.

There was so much of confusions when 1st batch of repatriation flight landed in Mangaluru airport on 12th May due to lack of proper arrangements and co ordination.

This time due to proper arrangements and special supervision by the DC everything was driven smoothly. It has given a confidence to all the Manglurean expats of Dubai in returning to their native places, the KSCC said.

Manama: Kannada Sangha Bahrain President Mr. Pradeep Shetty and Vice President of Bahrain's prestigious KHK HEROES Foundation Mohammed Mansoor on Monday, May 11, met The Second Secretary (Consular & CW) of the Embassy of India, Bahrain Mr. P. K. Chowdhury in the Indian Embassy. 

The situation, problems and relief of Indians and Kannadigas residing in Bahrain during the COVID 19 Pandemic was discussed in detail. The distribution of food (dry ration) kits, as well as those seeking repatriation, was also discussed in the meeting.

When asked about the repatriation of distressed Kannadigas, the Second Secretary said that though the number of Kannadigas who wish to return home is not much compared to the rest of the states, still Embassy is compiling all the information and will do the needful soon. 

Mr. Shetty and Mr. Mansoor told the Second Secretary that those who are in problem can contact them and they are ready to do their best.

Dubai, Aug 7: One may call it good luck, but for two Indian expats it was God who prevented them at the last minute from boarding the Air India Express plane that crashed in Kerala, killing at least 18 people on board.

According to India's Civil Aviation Ministry, the Boeing 737 aircraft on a flight from Dubai to Kozhikode overshot the runway at Kozhikode airport on Friday evening. There were 184 passengers including 10 infants, 2 pilots and four cabin crew onboard the aircraft.

Noufal Moin Vetten, an Ajman resident working as an office boy in a Sharjah school, was booked to travel on the flight and had checked in as per schedule.

Recounting his miraculous escape, Vetten, a resident of Malappuram, Thirunavaya, whose visa was cancelled a week ago, told Gulf News: “I was handed my boarding pass, but when I reached immigration, they told me I had to pay a fine of Dh 1,000 (Rs 20,430) for overstay. I had only Dh 500 (Rs10,215) with me.

"I called my school PRO and he told me to come back. He said they would follow protocols and pay the fines before sending me,“ he said.

Vetten was disappointed and called his family to let them know.

“When I heard about the crash, I was saddened for all the passengers. But I'm so relieved I missed it. God has been really merciful,” said Vetten.

Afsal Parrakodan, a resident of Abu Dhabi, had a similar stroke of luck.

“My work visa was cancelled about a week ago. After getting my boarding pass, I was told I had to pay a fine of Dh1,000 at the immigration counter, but I had only Dh500 on me.”

“I was very keen to board the flight and be with my family. So I called a friend who brought me the additional Dh500, but by then, my baggage had been offloaded and the flight's doors were closed,” said Parrakodan.

“I was feeling very sad and called my mother to tell her I had missed the flight. But a few hours later, when I learnt of the crash, I couldn’t help but feel relieved and thankful to God for saving my life,“ said an overwhelmed Parrakodan who plans to fly back next week.
