Riyadh: MPL T-15 from March 30 to May 4

Riyadh: Mangaluru Cricket Association Riyadh will be organising a Mangaluru Premier League T-15 cricket tournament for the first time in Riyadh from March 30.

Riyadh: Cricket Lovers in Riyadh are all geared up for the newly launched franchise based tournament Mangaluru Premier League or MPL under the banner of Mangaluru Cricket Association (MCA)- Riyadh for the very first time.

A total of 6 teams will participate. All matches will be played on MCA Ground Exit 18 Riyadh on Friday Afternoon 2 Pm. 15 overs tournament known as T-15 will begin from March 30 2018 and will end on May 4, 2018.

The organizing committee members for MPL are Ashraf Patte, Naushad Mottethadka and Shamshu Bailoor.

All teams will play at least one league match against every other team. Top 4 teams in the table will qualify to play for the Qualifier 1 and Eliminator. The Winner of Qualifier 1 will be heading towards the final and the 2nd finalist will be the winner Qualifier 2 (Played between loser of Qualifier 1 and Winner of Eliminator). The final event will be interesting as both teams will play 2 innings of 8 overs each. MCA rules and regulations will be followed. Only Indian players are allowed.

The opening ceremony will be held on March 30 at 2 p.m. on MCA Grounds Exit 18, Sulay -  Riyadh prior to beginning of the matches. All are cordially invited to extend their good wishes and support for the success of the entire event.

Yaqoob Fighters – Shahid United & Yaqoob – Naushad Mottethadka & Rifaz Tonse

Cinesoft CC – Habeeb Ashes – Abilash Ashes & Rajesh Ashes

Coastal Karnataka – Imtiyaz Rajdhani – Sarfaraz Rajdhani & Mustafa Rajdhani

Mighty Mangaloreans – Siddik Attackers & Imtiaz Kings Ullal – Saddab  & Ashfak

Mangalore Rangers – Thausif Deera Guys & Hanif Karavali Al Fanar – Badruddin Deera Guys & Shabbir Karavali Al Fanar

Each team gets to pick two icon players of their choice on a mutual understanding whereas the remaining 13 players for each squad to be picked randomly based on their rankings and ratings in bidding style from 3 categories – A, B & C. The Franchise ownership amount stands at Sr 1,500 for Each Team. The winner of the tournament gets a cash reward of Sr 3,000. The runner up gets a cash reward of 1,500.

Many Attractive Individual prizes will be handed over at the end of the event. They are:

Highest Run– Orange Cap – LED TV

Highest Wicket– Purple Cap – LED TV

Player of the Series – Laptop

Player who scores 50+ runs in the finals will be awarded with Cash Prize.

Wicket hat trick in the finals will be awarded with cash prize.

Kuwait City, Aug 9: Indian social forum organised Blood Donation Camp in association with central blood bank kuwait on Friday, 7th August 2020.

The forum organised camp to support the high demand of blood in the context of COVID-19.

All arrangements to maintain COVID-19 protocol were made in the camp including segregation of donors as branch wise batches along with strict safety measures of participants.

Forum also had donated blood to many patients during the lockdown period. 

Hundreds of people donated blood in the camp. The camp organised in Blood Bank, Jabriya was successfully managed by Dr. Asma Rafat and leaders of Indian social forum Vice President Aslam, Secretory Sayyid Bukhari Thangal, Moideen Koya, Khaleel, Aseem, Mohammed Sha, Shihab, Naushad,
Indian Social Forum expressed their deep appreciation and gratitude to the doctors, staff and management of blood bank, forum’s members and donors.

Dubai, Aug 7: ‘Nama Tuluve’ Purushotham Salian, a staunch stalwart who always supported humanity and a strong pillar for Tuluvas in Dubai, passed away August, 4 at Al Tawam Hospital Al Ain. He was suffering from cancer and was admitted to Al Tawam Hospital Al Ain some time ago. He was on the last stage of illness which was not detected earlier.

His funeral last rites were conducted on Thursday August 7 at Jebel Ali cemetery in Hindu rites with a few of his family members present. Due to Covid pandemic, neither his body was able to be flown back to hometown nor could his two children come down to attend the funeral. However, it was said that his wish was to be cremated here in Dubai which unknowingly sometime back he whispered to one of his friends.

Purushotham had few years ago, survived a heart attack and fought back his life, though it had a minor paralytic effect on him. Even though, till recently he used to do his day-to-day work normally. He was a hard working personality and owned a readymade garment shop in Ajman and Dubai mostly taking care of clients with requirement of uniforms and coveralls. His dedication towards work was always appreciated by his clients who used to get their things delivered on time always.

He was never a publicity person and was helping the poor and needy in whatever ways he could silently. He strongly supported the community and was associated with Nama Tuluveru and Billawa community with commitment. He used to voluntarily come forward for the ground work of various functions of the community and used to be there until it was done perfectly.

Dubai: In response to UAE health authorities encourage blood donation campaign Anivasai Kannadigara Okkuta - U.A.E, conducted blood donation camps on April 22 at Abu Dhabi Blood Bank Khaldiya and on 23/04/2020 at Blood Transfusion and Research Centre, Sharjah.

The Abu Dhabi camp was inaugurated by Head of Department of Abu Dhabi Blood Bank, On this occasion she gave brief inputs of the benefits and features of blood donation, urged the participants to spread greater awareness about the importance of blood donation and congratulated the AKO members for their selfless social service and wished all the best for their future endeavours.

Abdul Rasheed, President of AKO presided over the function and Anivasai Kannadigara Okkuta Vice President Mr. Mohammad Nasir appreciated the effort for organizing this camp and gathering youths to be a part of this noble cause as life is precious on this earth. "Each drop of blood counts much, so kindly take it as personal compassion to help unknown who requires blood with no relatives to help him/her.

In Abu Dhabi 41 and in Sharjah 49 donors participated in this event and donated their blood. It was nice to see cheerful smiling donors doing a great community work.
Blood bank staff and AKO Organizing team enthusiastically arranged the campaign which was witnessed by many members and leaders of various community organization of Karnataka.

Anivasai Kannadigara Okkuta President briefed the participates about the ongoing social work of AKO in this current COVID-19 pandemic grim situation AKO is working on following fields: AKO Members have stepped up to support needy community during the Covid-19 pandemic have gone out of their way to comfort those struggling to deal with the challenging situation.

While thousands of people continue to #StayHome, many are in quarantine, there are those on visit visa and stuck here, others have lost jobs or face salary cuts. AKO in coordination with UAE Embassy and other social organization have been able to ensure basic necessities are fulfilled with food provisions and medical assistance to needy.

Providing counselling to bachelors and families those are on quarantine and isolation.

The organizers thanked everybody especially, UAE Health Authority, Abu Dhabi Blood Bank Khaldiya and Blood Transfusion and Research Centre, Sharjah, Management and staff as well as donors for their time and support for the good cause.
